[***] recorded advertisement for home security. Tried calling it back, got a busy signal/dial tone.

Got call from this number 16 minutes ago.  Tried calling back and got constant busy signal!  

received a call from this number 30 mins after a coworker had a call from the same number. neither of us could answer but called back and got a fast busy signal.

Had 2 calls same day. First time no message, 2nd call ,I called back. Recording said, number out of service.

Whoever it is, has been calling my home repeatedly.

Fortunately, my phones have a caller ID function.  

My husband and I are at the point we don't answer the phone anymore unless we recognize the number.

That do-not-call registry established by the FTC is a waste of time.

Got a missed call from this no. to my cell phone -  a no. that I have only given to family.  I NEVER list this no. with anyone else or any company, not even as a possible emergency no.  I pay by the minute for my calls, and sure don't want to waste a dime on someone I didn't solicit.  

Got a call from this number. Called back and a voice message played saying "if you want to be removed for this call list, press any digit"

Got a call from this number. It's a recording saying that I was selected by a friend for a free home security system blah blah blah...

The reason people can't get through when dialing back is likely because it's a local presence / masked number. All that means is that they use a fake number to call you so they can't be traced. I worked for a company that did something similar.

Best thing to do is block the number or save it as, "Do not answer" in your contacts.
