- Zim City Cowboy| 1 replyScam!!!!!!!!! We keep receiving several phone calls from this # saying we owe hundreds of dollars for Yellow Pages.com enrollment and that they are ready to turn it over to a collection agency. Definite scam, they wanted us to pay with credit card and couldn't provide me with proof that I had signed up for the advertising. Businesses stay aware.

- JudyI just got a call this evening from this phone number. At first I could not understand what he was saying as he also had a heavy Indian accent, had him repeat it, thought it was about a disk, and said we were not interested, and not to call as we are on the do not call list. Then he called right back and spoke slowly. This time I heard it and he did not say disk but rather "dick."
I hung up. He called right back and the Caller ID said Private Caller. I did not answer, but he left a very, very, nasty message on our answering machine - very, very vulgar. I am going to report this number for sure to the www.donotcall.gov site.
If you get a phone call from them - HANG UP and report them! - August BerkshireI got a call from this number from a man with a heavy Indian accent. My caller ID said "888 Cust Ser". He said there were reports of my Microsoft products not running well on my computer. He asked if my computer was running slowly and I was having problems with popups. Almost everyone would answer Yes to these questions. (Actually, I have a very good popup blocker and am not having problems. And my computer running slower than I wish has to do with issues I know about.) He wanted to scan my computer to fix the problem. I told him I wasn't going to let a complete stranger remotely scan my computer. I told him I was in my car (true) and to call me back when I got home in a half hour. (I wanted to hear more of his spiel.) It's been 50 minutes and he has not called me back. Meanwhile, I found this site.
- an old manThis was a follow up call by the requestor concerning my grandson being held in Guatemala. See note on 438 scams. The first person sounded like a boy. He called Officer Jones, I asked them the name of my grandson. They said they didn"t have it. They told all the dire things that would happen if I didn't send the money. I hung up.
- LoisThey have called before and again today with the computer problem spiel. Heavy Indian accent. I told him I have three sons who build computers, and did not need anyone to repair mine. I will report it to the do not call list, but I do not think that works at all.
- Caller: cust ser
- bbmicrosoftI got 2 calls from this number asking to remotely fix my computer. They claimed to be from Microsoft.
I told them i thought they were scammers and did not allow it. My son a software writer said Microsoft would never make such a call. Be warned, do not allow them to access your computer. - ohwhatayearCalled me today; told me that my Windows computer had a virus and that he could show me all the things wrong. So, I said okay and he proceeded to give me instructions on how to open the Start menu and then the Computer menu with a right click. Then he asked me what I saw. I asked him how he could see my computer and he told me "through the internet we can see all the things about your computer." At that point I told him that he was full of crap and that I didn't have any Windows computers (I have several Macs) and then the line went dead. Caller ID showed 888 cust ser and the phone number behind that was shown as 206-260-2004. Scammer had a very heavy Indian accent and a very small brain.
