Scam with a wife and husband duo..newest one for craigslist I guess :(

How did you find out they were scammers?

what is this? What kind of scam can this be?? does anyone know???

I'm also in the process of an attempted scan by someone at this number.  They use the e-mail address cindyvolt@gmail.com and a few other gmail accounts.  The scam is they state they're interested in buying your Craigslist item and pretend (using spoof e-mails) to pay via PayPal.  The amount they "transfer" includes an overpayment so that you can then wire payment for shipping to their shipping company via Western Union, whose address they provide you.  In my case, they "transferred" $750 on a $450 item and instructed me to wire them the $300 "payment" to them via Western Union.  

I've reported them to PayPal, Western Union, and the FBI.  If they've attempted to scam you, you should do the same.  Go here (www.ic3.gov/) to report online scams to the FBI.

the tryed scaming me today, they offered to buy an ATV for 350.00 when im only asking 300.00, they said that they wil send me a cashiers check and thena transport once i get the check... i work for a fraud department/investigation service, im going to take this one straight to the topp of my to-do list at work..

Yeah they tried me on Craigslist today offering an extra $50 on a surfboard.  Looked like a scam, but I tried to get them on the phone.  They wouldn't, but same phone number and the name this time was Kemi James and email michlong154@gmail.com.  I despise this type of stuff.  I hope they get busted.  Best of luck, Taylor.

I just got an email from them. They offered $75 more than what I was asking. They would pay via a cashiers check, then arrange pick up. I googled the phone number and found this site identifying them as scammers!!

also got a email for my listing from  Laura Faulkner, "chillyteen003@gmail.com"
Anyway, I knew it was a scam so I thought I would have some fun with them.
Been going back and forth with emails telling them stuff like I have someone else
interested in the item, don't no if I can hold it, " they offered me more to hold it "
This time I Told them I did not want a name put on the MO and want it sent overnight
to hold it.  I'll update soon.
Really, how stupid are they to think ppl would fall for this.

They are still at it. They contacted me yesterday.

Offered $50 more than I was asking for my item. Said they would send the certified check and arrange for pickup. SCAM. haha don't fall for it! Hate people like this.

I had the same thing happen to me 2 days ago. Almost same email also. I filed a claim through fbi also.

I had "laura" contact me about a post ing I had on craigs list. The item was$200. She wanted to give me an extra $100 for taking it off the list. She then sent me a check via fedex for$1960.00 that I was to cash and send the rest to ashipping company. Complete scam. Still trying to get more info from her. Complete scam. I hope she gets busted soon.

I had the same problem with cindyvolt@gmail.com... thank god I thought it was suspicious and googled the email account... and no transaction was made gladly. what i don't get is.. did she transferred the money or what? she offered to sent me a certified check with is a little bit confusing! I already reported the sacm to the FBI
I hope we can stick in this together.

Jon posted a month ago and is unlikely to read your post. Here's how the scam works. The certified check she sends you is FAKE but is such a good fake that your bank will accept for deposit. The truth is the average bank teller cannot tell the difference betweeen a real and fake check, and there is also a law that says banks must be make funds available to you on the same day when you deposit a cashier's check. Since your bank accepted it, you think the check must be good so you withdraw the shipping fee and Western Union it to her. A few days later, the cashier's check comes up bad. You lose the money you wired her (wired money is irrecoverable), may be charged bank fees and may be prosecuted for depositing a bad check. The scam works because wiring money takes hours while clearing a check takes days, and the scammer will have your shipping fee in hand way before the check is cleared.

Just got the same message on craigslist! I felt weird in my tummy reading her email, also claimed to her work schedule that she is a nurse and cannot make time to come to see my items, also offered 50 dollars more which initial first email asked if i would neg. my price, no was my answer. we have mailed back and forth, waiting for the next email, and I'm going to have some fun!!!! :o) and of course im going to report this...

I HOPE SHE DOES ALSO THIS SUCKS, HOW CAN people be so disgusting....rediculous!
