- Angie| 1 replyReceived this call stating that due to a recent audit following a contested tax amount, my accounts were re audited. The amount they quoted was almost exactly what was contested. They said this call was a courtesy as a lien would be executed against my bank accounts and property. When the call became suspicious....ie. don't tell anyone what you're doing...keep me on the phone...had to be paid by cash with prepaid cards, stupid [***]....I came home and on another phone contacted local pd. who was here in 3 minutes. we got to the card company before "Mr Gates" so they are refunding the money....they had so many specifics, including last 4 of my ss that it was completely convincing. Changing ALL passwords tomorrow...have no idea what may have been hacked on my end...

- Bilcontacted me claiming to be IRS audit division and that I was in trouble,,,Seems suspicious sounded like a man from india, very hard to understand says his name is Steve Johnson
- linda herreraThey and said i owe them money so i call the irs and they said that it was not them .so I call the number and told them i was going to call the Police on them and they hung the phone.
- M JolinAn obvious scam. Could only understand half of the message because of caller's accent. Claimed to be from the IRS and that the matter is urgent and that I must call him back and not ignore his call. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRNT. I am not a stupid person.
- CarmenI was so upset he called at least 4 times and the 4th time he left me a message " Do not ignore this phone call this is regarding a serious IRS matter we have audited you and there's a warrant out for your arrest" He sounded very official I first called the Police and sure enough this was a scam. This man called himself Michael Black and had a very heavy accent and already to me that was suspicious.. to say the least they did make me very angry because I don't think these things work like that if in fact I did owe to the IRS I would have received something in writing. They need to be stopped most people get scared and provide their SSN# right away..

- LuluReceived 3 calls from this # today within a few minutes of each other. The last one they left a voice mail saying his name was Officer David Watson, calling from the IRS. Had a very heavy Indian or Pakistani accent and it was difficult to understand what he was saying. But I did make out that it was an urgent matter and they have determined there is a deficiency in my income tax and I need to call asap before they are forced to take action against me. Glad to find this page where others had received similar calls from the same number.

- vmI received call from Michael Black ,saying my husband did not pay the right tax and he say the police will come here to arrest me.Why me? I get the office address but he cant give it at first. It's very obvious its a scam.I hope he will be the one arrested by the police.I hope the police will call the number and arrest this man who is causing trouble to many people.

- DIjust received voicemail today from Steve Johnson (heavy Indian accent) saying I was in trouble with IRS owing for tax deficiency. Call the number back and got his "supervisor" Jake Dawson (even heavier Indian accent). He informed me I was guilty of tax violation, tax deficiency and theft of the federal government and that IRS officials and police would be at my door today to arrest me over $2,785....without a piece of mail being sent, an audit or any chance to understand the situation. I could resolve it with a moneygram though. How do these people get away with this? How can you stop them?

- DeniseThis guy is still out there! He called me yesterday saying the same thing he's been saying to everyone else. He said that I owe $2700 and today was my last day to pay and he would reduce it to $900 if I paid today. I laughed at him and told him this was a scam and he called me a fraud [***] over and over again. He then told me that he's calling the police and having them at my house tonight to be arrested. then he hung up on me.

- JohnGot a call from the same number. VM Says officer Raddic Foster from IRS Audit Department. Urgent matter call back or have your attorney call back. Seems like a scam. According to my CPA, IRS will never call. They will send letter if they have any question.
- CaroleAfter listening to this call numerous times (due to the really thick Indian accent) I surmised that I was supposedly in some type of "income tax" trouble. I was told there was a warrant out for my arrest and I needed to call Mr. Black (or Mr. Blake) as soon as possible to get this problem rectified. This scam has been making the rounds in this part of Florida for over six months now.

- KimGot a call from 206-347-8941. Officer David Melur with the IRS tax audit department and had an accent. Claimed it was legal and very urgent, time sensitive and said not to dosregard the call. When I saw the ph# come up on my caller ID, I did not answer and my machine picked up. I have learned over the years that the IRS will not contact someone by phone- only by mail. I hope people don't respond to scams like this. I even have my phone # on the Do Not Call list- a lot of good that does!

- Tim K replies to AngieThe IRS will never contact you by phone to notify you of any tax issues, that is always done via a certified letter.
It seems that India has become a world leader in hosting dishonest people out to do nothing more than to rip people off. They do not care who their victims are and target the elderly more than any other victim types. These perpetrators are nothing more than a bunch of worthless scum sucking maggots and everyone of them should be taken to an open mass grave, shot first in the gut and gonads so they suffer for a bit and then have what little brains they have blown out the back of their heads in a big frothy red cloud of blood, gray matter and feces - tomthey said they were from IRS
- RonScammers - Claim to have a lien against me, yet they called the compliance hotline at my company, not my phone. Asked to remove this number multiple times, yet they still call.

Received call, recorded message indicating they were IRS audit department and that IRS has sued me for tax deficiency. I called back and upon individual picking up phone I advised that "This call is being recorded for prosecution purposes". Requested the name of individual answering call. "Robert"; requested the name of his employer..would not provide clearly; requested confirmation that he was employed by the IRS/Department of Treasury/US Government. Did not provide a response; requested his identification number. Robert hung up! End of call.
DO NOTE...THE IRS/DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY WILL NEVER, EVER CALL YOU DIRECTLY ON ANY TAX ISSUE(S).
Have received numerous calls over the last year, from all parts of the country, with the same "pitch". Should you respond, advise that the call is being recorded for possible criminal prosecution purposes!!! The call will end post haste!- Call type: Debt collector

- TonnaCalled and left a message on home phone and my cell phone that it was a final attempt to contact me that the IRS has issued a lawsuit against me. I called the number back and got the "tax audit division". Long story short they never asked for money over the phone. They were very good about their answers when I tried to verify information. I finally walked into our local police department after a long conversation in which I was told that there was a warrant going to be issued for my arrest and that all my debit cards and bank accounts and property would be frozen by the federal government due to a miscalculated tax reports from the past 4 years. I told the gal on the phone I was in the local police station and they persisted. We finally hung up and they proceeded to call me 5 times while I was in the Chief of Police's office. They are very persistent and obviously not threatened by law enforcement!!
