Didn't receive a call, but was given this number as a contact number.

I was given this number as well, for a fish tank i am selling on craigslist. The woman said she's deaf and this is a phone number hooked to a computer an transmits a voicemail as email. So is this all bogus?

i was selling a bird cage and the guy gave me this number to call and claimed he is deaf as well.

       My name is Bob spencer and on 9/4/09 I recieved a e-mail from a person claiming to be a Michelle Stewart
she also stated she could'nt talk to me because she was deaf and gave me a number 206-350-2019 and stated she had
her secretary mail a draft to me then e-mailed me again stating her secretary made the draft for to much money but wondered if she could trust me to send remaining balance to her shipper. I advised her she could trust me as I have been a Police Officer for over 20 plus years. However since i notifiued her of that I have not heard from her.
I also had another guy e-mail me almost identical to hers
These are definate scammers my phone # is (607)539-3367 ask for bob or e-mail me back

        I recieved an e-mail from a lady stating her name was Michelle Stewart and that she was deaf and that I could contact her via (206)350-2019 it is a fax number
I advized her via e-mail that I have been a Police officer for 20 plus years because she stated her secretary sent a draft for to much money and she wondered if she could trust me (yeah right).
I also recieved an e-mail from a guy almost identical to hers but he did'nt get time to give a phone number

Awoman e-mailed me stating she wanted two items I had for sale on craigslist in Ithaca N.Y..We e-mailed each other a few times when she stated she was deaf and that she could not talk to me and gave a phone # (206)350-2019 stating I could leave a message via that phone # and that she would get my message by e-mail. Once I advised her I have been a Police Officer for 20 plus years I have not heard from her again.She wanted me to cash a check which was for to much and mail the balance to her movers she stated her secretary madfe out the draft and thatb I could keep $100.00 for my troubles
In my years I have seen it all.
I also had a male subject send me an almost identical e-mail however he did'nt get time to leave me a phone #

I got the exact same thing she was trying to get me to do everything you just said... It was weird

i had a similar experience 2day with some1 on craigslist. a nicole watford in the Watertown,NY area wanted to buy my tv. this is my 1st time selling on craigslist and it sounds like a scam to me.

     I bet the name you were given is Michelle Stewart
Clarence Connelly or Roland Duke, These are scammers and
they have several scams using craigslist.I recieved a $3,200 check (stolen and forged) delivered by UPS.
**DO NOT CASH**or you will be stuck for the money when the check does'nt clear the bank.
The checks are stolen from a South carolina car dealer, I have spoken to The security head a Dennis Chapman of the South Carolina Bank and Trust who I have sent all e-mails and the stolen/forged check to. Mr. Chapman is colecting all evidence relating to these scams and has forwarded them to the FBI. If I can be of any further help or if you have any info about similar scams please send me an e-mail at Lspencer1204@hotmail.com.
I am still getting e-mails from this Michelle Stewart even after I advised her I was a Police officer,how stupid can ya get.

I received a request to purchase a table we have on Craigs and they want to pay by draft.  Name given is Fred Wilson, but same phone and profile of deaf, etc.  Have requested cash payment but have not heard back.

I too received a reply for an item on Craigslist yesterday and again this morning. The second e-mail was word for word as per Charles post. The names used were Fred Wilson and Merlin Shokers. The phone number is the same one out of Washington State 206-350-2019. The e-mail addresses were enii7000@googlemail.com    and    mshokers@gmail.com.

I have filed a complaint with the FTC as well. Reference number is: 24962788

They claim to be deaf because they will use TTY to hide their foreign accents.  They insist on UPS to escape any federal raps for mail fraud.

Below is the message I recieved from an advertisement on craigslist today. I don't understand why something can't be done about such fraud.

I received the same type of email that others have posted. If you see this number it is a scam.

206 350 2019 = Total Scam

the phony email still lives. Thanks for all the previous posts! I will not waste my time with this fake buyers.
