- Lizzy| 5 repliesI got a phone call asking about my computer and saying they were with microsoft. When I told them I didn't have a computer they wanted to know if I had a laptop. I just hung up. Who is this person? I feel like this is a scam.

email: fccinfo@fcc.gov - mthey want you to send computer info, they call back aggressively. pretty sure this is a scam
- Caller: alleges to be Mocrosoft
- JCalled said computer was reported to the Global Network and needed computer info. Stated he was from Microsoft when confronted became verbally abusive.
- APerson with Mexican accent called me and stated he was from Microsoft's global server center and my computer was emitting "bad information". He requested me to enter info into the command prompt so he could have my computer's information.
It is amazing how malicious people are.- Caller: FRAUD!
- davidTes, I keep getting calls from this number and don't answer them, don't know this person !!
- EThese "tech services" about your operating system are a scam! When I challenged the caller about what he wanted, he became rude and then hung up on me. I have had problems with calls from the state of Washington for many months now.
- Caller: a rude person
- Kristin replies to LizzyI got the same call and when I said this sounds like a scam the man said "listen dumb ass..."
- StopCallingMe| 3 repliesSomething else interesting about this number is that when you call it back, the number is disconnected. I didn't answer the call on purpose because I didn't recognize the number. So I called the number back on my cell phone and the number had been disconnected.
- ScamReporterGot a call from this number. Person was Hispanic and could not understand most of what he said. But I did understand him asking about my home computer. At this day and age, it is a lot like asking about my checking account, personal information, credit cards, and the list goes on. Don't talk to these people! I just said "uh, NO!"; and then he hung up. BEWARE!!!
- Caller: Couldn't Tell
- Sharon Fanning replies to Lizzy| 2 repliesI got the same call, they said they were from Mircosoft and they had been receiving many (hundreds?) of error messages and something about a virus (bad reception, not sure what they said) and so Mircosoft is running very slow. I have a virus scanner that has never reported problems. As far as I am concerned, my applications are running just fine. I thanked them and said I would have to delete the error messages from my computer so it would run faster and hung up. I believe it is a scam of some type.
- SmartKidIt is most definitely a scam, Microsoft will never call you and if by some weird chance they do they will verify their employment with you, not start off with "we believe your computer is infected with 1,000 of viruses" like my caller did. He even told me that 85% if the Microsoft Network was down which would be a rare site in its own.... Just hang up and report the number to Microsoft using the support page on their website so they can hunt down and catch the [***].
- j| 1 replyI received a call at 6:00 am this morning, I have caller id (and id not answer) so I tried to call back and the line is disconnected. A sure sign of a scam from another country. In this country if the "company" says there are during "surveys", they are ALL exempt from the Do Not Call Registry, Federal Regulations and Cable Company Blocked Calls. They are pretty cleaver showing the call is coming from Seattle, when in reality they are from India or overseas. After months of research the only thing I have found out, is our government does not care, and doesn't have technology to stop these annoying calls.
- Caller: Seattle
- Call type: Prank
- judyI don't anwer no number that can't leave a measage.beacuse that tell's me that it's a scam
- Caller: unknow
- dcbagain these [***] keep calling me, sick of it, they are not Microsoft, Microsoft doesn't do this... SCAM........
- MGot a call. Says they are tech support. This is a scam
- Caller: Tech Support
- mjaAs a tech who has to fix the damage done by these people, I can most assuredly tell you they are out for your personal info. Most sound very genuine when they call. Windows based computers often generate errors that you never see because Windows takes care of them without your help. There is a log of these errors and the callers "show" you these errors "proving" they are there to help. NEVER allow them to take control of your computer.
As to Microsoft, they have literally billions of computers with one of their operating systems. There is no way they could or would single you out, find your phone number and then call you. They have their money and have no need to call you. Hang up on these thieves and block their number from your phone. Warn people around you that this scam is going on and to do the same thing, hang up and block the number.- Caller: Tech Support
