Message about deactivating a Wells Fargo card. I do not have any card or account with Wells Fargo.

Text msg from 360-334-2701 stating "Wells Fargo Alert: Your CARD starting with 4868 has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 206-427-9512.

I do not have a card with Wells Fargo.

"WELLS ARGO ALERT: Your CARD starting with **** has been DEACTIVATED. Please Contact us at: 206-427-9512."

I have Wells Fargo and they somehow got the first 4 digits of my card number. When calling the number back it asks for you to enter the whole card number. I started to do this and thought it seemed suspicious. I called my bank and they said that Wells Fargo would not solicit like that.

The first 4 digits are bank specific.  4868 is for Wells Fargo.  When a bank msg's you about a card, they'll use the last four, as that is distinctive.  They never use the first four when referring to your card.

Got a text saying my Wells Fargo card starting with 4868 has been deactivated. I do not have a card that starts with that number.

I also received this same text from 206-427-9512 and the call back number they game me had my own area code and looked similar to my banks phone number 503-593-4107.  Pretty tricky frauds are getting. I do have wells fargo card.  This is the second time, previously it was someone claiming to be bank of america.  If ever in question, always call the number on the back of your card to check with them.  They can let you know if there really are any problems.

Received a message to call this number because my card beginning with 4868 had been deactivated.  I do not own a Wells Fargo card.  It was sent to my cell phone in the form of a text message.

Ok - I confirmed with Wells Fargo Customer Service, they know about this and this IS definitely a scam.  They did not send this out and DO NOT call this number.   They said their security department is working on this problem currently.

I do not have a card from this bank and it is asking for a pin to move forward.  No bank will ever ask for that type of information from you.

i do have a wells fargo card but my bank would never text me with card starting numbers, its always the last 4 numbers. SCAM!!!!

Got the same message.Figured it was a scam. Made up a sixteen digit number with 4868 as the first four.
Have fun shopping my friendly scammers.

I don't have a Wells Fargo Card.  I will try contacting Wells Fargo about this.  Maybe they would like to call the number.  ;-)

I received this same text... if you select reply the phone number appears in the reply to area..1(360)334-2701. this is where the call/text came from.

Got a text from this number... same message as everyone else.  Told me to call 360-334-2701.  Of course I didn't. :)
