And what happened

This is a scam.  I received the same today except now the check says Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company-PO Box 8379 Canton OH 44711-8379-On the bottom it says Bank One-looks legitimate but it is definately fraud.  Says I won 250,000.00 and sent the check for 4970.50 to cover the non-canadian residential tax.  I am contacting the FBI now and also Nationwide.  It is under the heading of Readers Digest.  It states Mark T. Howard as the regional manager phone# 206-445-0633 fax# 253-883-1828.  The tax agent, Stacy Black at 302-5554 Waller Lane Tacoma Washington and my claim agent is Amy Cooper at 778-320-0855.  What a bunch of crap.  Can't wait until they get caught.  Will definately work with authorities and try to chase the numbers.

Got this letter with the check today also.  Spouse was kind of tricked, but there was NO WAY in hell we were going to place that check into our account.

Same here - I received the same letter from Reader's Digest - I called the number just to see and was asked to go deposit the check and call her right back (Amanda Nelson at 778-320-0855) - no way am I going to deposit a check into my account either.  My check on the top was from Metropolitan Life Ins. Co in Texas.

I got the same thing check,letter but this checks says Connecticut mutual life but the letter is the same

THE MAYHEM CONTINUES. I got the same letter and check in the mail today. My check is drawn from Bank One in Dearborn, Michigan. Account name is Nationwide Mutual insurance Company out of Canton, Ohio for the amount of $3750.00. my letter claims that i was one of 3 Randomly selected finalist and i have won $165,000.00, and my customer care representative is JOANNE DWYER. I hope this helps others. If it sounds to good to be true...............well i think you know how that statement ends.

this number called my house today. the recorded message stated that the IRS is suing me.
