- Christin| 3 repliesReceived a message from this number stating Officer David Cooper was calling from the IRS. The message states not to disregard this message and return the call. If they don't hear from me or my attorney, all he can do is wish me good luck as this situation unfolds apon me. This is a similar message I received from a Brad and number 315-636-5243. The calls stopped coming from the Brad individual when I answered "Thank you for calling the local Police department. Sounds like a scam.
- Kate replies to ChristinJust received the same call. This has to be a scam.
- Helen replies to Christingot a call on monday same call-contacted local police dept. they confimed it is a scam-said they have gotten lots of complaints-i was instruted to hang up not to speak with them at all
- EileenJust got the same call with the same message Christin received. I called them back and told them I thought it was bogus and wasn't going to talk to them. The guy had an accent and the line had a lot of static. Can't tell me the IRS is going to have a bad line. Plus, we haven't owed a dime in years, so I knew I couldn't be under investigation for anything.
- Liz| 1 replyI got this same call on my cell. Same message about being the IRS and wishing me good luck as this situation unfolds upon me, I KNOW I don't owe the IRS, as they issue me a refund every year. SCAM!!! I blocked the number.
- Caller: Scam artist
- Nish replies to LizI received the same call multiple times this week
- Linda replies to ChristinI received the same message today (November 14, 2014). I told him go right down to the IRS in my city and pay the bill. He also asked me if I had cash money and was I walking back to my car. I finally told him I knew he was making a scam phone call and I was not the one to play with.
- Lucky| 1 replyHorrible scam! Same guy & accent ("Officer David Cooper") calling from direct IRS hotline. I reported to DNC List & local police. Found out you can get your cell service provider to block a number for you. Call Type here needs a SCAMMER category for calls like this.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - CherylI also got this call.. The man w/the accent told me to go to a riteaid for a gov bond.. I called the riteaid to ask if they knew about the scam & they said hang up, call the police because we do not do government bonds.. It's a scam!!
