This phone # 206-496-0831 (Seattle, WA?) left a missed call on my cell phone in East Central VA today (9/21/11) @ about 4:20pm.  Dunno who or why.  Punched the # into google and came up with this site.

Some type of telemarketing or solicitation, I called the number back and was immediately given the option to have my number placed on a do not call list.

This is a telemarketer that does not honor the do not call listing. My number has been registered for over 5 years. Calling this number results in a recording offering to remove your number within 72 hours.

You do realize that you must register with the "Do Not Call" list every year otherwise your number will be removed from that list. If you haven't registered in the last five years, your number is no longer listed.

You don't have to register every year.  Your registration does not expire.

This number calls all the time. No message but stays on long enough for answering machine to pick up background noise.

i've put  my # on the do not call list, so why am i still receiving unwanted calls??

I just got a call too. Really weird. Who ever it was said my name then half way through saying my name was disconnected.

call my number and do not say nothing and just hang up on you.

I found a really great trick for these telemarketers. I answered this number with: "New York City police department what is your emergency?" and the guy on the other end of the line stuttered...and said, OH...I am so sorry, I have the wrong number. I have not received another call from them again. Just use whatever city you are in...and it will work!!! ;-)

Calls and leaves no message...repeatedly. When I called back, no one spoke on other end of phone.

Same thing.  Don't think it for collections as I'm unaware of me having anything to collect.  Seattle, WA.  Never leaves a message and the call back is very generic.
