This is absolutely 100% a SCAM - the caller(s) pose as DEA agents, threatening you with arrest for some bogus claim. They sound semi-official and will literally tell you that you will be arrested shortly or that agents are on their way to your house. Then they will ask tell you that if you give them a certain amount of money that the agent will "make everything go away"! PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THESE SCAMMERS, AND REPORT THEM TO YOUR LOCAL POLICE AND ALSO REPORT THEM TO THE US GOVERNMENT!

I just the same call as above from a "Peter Johnson" of the DEA. He said exactly the same thing and negotiated me to a price of 800 from 1800 after he called me back. he even gave me a case number of CPL9-0074699-DEA-2012 and wanted me to wire the money from a local western union. i mentioned that I looked up the scam on the DEA website, said he would call me back with a location. That was about a half an hour ago and haven't heard back. It's a scam.

kept getting calls from these guys... eventually ditched the phone company, got a skype phone and only had to block them once... end of story, and i also purchased a skype in number (local prefix too)

I just got a call too. I was like what the heck?! They left a message saying  to give them a call that it is regarding an investigation. Im not an exciting person nor have I seen suspicious activity on my credit cardss so I looked the number up. Glad you guys posted and I know not to bother calling back. Such scum to scare and intimidate people. Also in the future no one should agree to give money to any governement official. No real trust worthy agent will ever ask for a "bribe" or take it. From the dates it seems they are making their rounds. I dont know how they got my number...but this is frightening. I think I am about to block them too if they try calling again.

My boyfriend got a call about an hour or so ago, and the caller said he was special agent Peter Johnson and that they were coming to arrest him. They didnt ask for a specific amount of money, but did mention a fine if he cooperated with them. NO DEA AGENT WILL EVER GIVE YOU A HEADS UP WHEN COMING TO ARREST YOU. He spoke to an attorny who has a son as a cop and both say this is a scam. Im so thankful that you guys have informed the community by blogging, it puts my heart at ease. Thank You to all of you who put it out there like it is, FAKE!

just got a call from this number. left a message, same story, asking me to call back "regarding an investigation". How can these people be allowed to do this? There are so many people out there as easy prey! HORRIBLE! don't be fooled!

The Guy who called me said his name was special agent john Lewis, extra 1134 left a message saying that I was being investigating and to call the number 2064970043. I called the number and asked what he wanted, he said he had a warrant for my arrest and that he was going to proceed with it. THIS IS A SCAM, THE D.E.A DOES NOT WARN PEOPLE WHEN THAT THEY ARE GOING TO ARREST THEM.

The number has been scrubbed, this [***] lives with his momma and does not measure up. If you know what I mean.
