This message just didn't sit right with me.  I thought this was a little suspicious; Posting here for your info, I posted my car for sale on craigslist; next day I got e-mail asking if car is still available; I responded yes; and then received this e-mail:  It seems like there are alot of these 206-666-xxxx suspicious e-mails

I got the same message.  I was renting a boat lift on craig's list and John Smith responded that he is interested in buying my bike.  I emailed him back telling him I'm not selling a bike and don't scam me.  Then I got the same exact message that you got.  Be careful on craig's list.  I get scam emailed everyweek.

I got the exact same responce to an add I put on craigs list.  same text same phone number

I got the same email after posting to craigslist. While researching the 'given' information such as the hotmail account it originated from, [davemuro7@hotmail.com] this was what I found.

This is an obvious attempt to fraud. I am forwarding this to as many people and authorities that I can think of. I recommend that you do the same.

I found him on Chinatradeholding.com
and i was about to make a purchase and found this site and now i am not going to make the purchase since he is a scam artist.

I was not personally called by this number, but it was referred to me to call about a job that I posted as available on craigslist. Thankfully I researched it a bit and realized it was a scam!

i got an email from this person today saying he wants to buy an item i had on craigslist.he asked for my name ,number and address.and said he would send a check for over$1,000 more then the item im selling costs and for me to return the remainder.I know its a scam now but before i figured it out i did send my information(name,number and address)am i already in trouble by giving this info.can he do anything with the information i gave him.Im really worried now.Please someone let me know.Thanks

Are you guys sure that the ip address 212.162.1.124 isn't given out randomly to several hotmail email users?  Perhaps it's just a generic ip address

The Ip is the mail server for Hotmail in redmond. Just do not respond to this guy and you will be OK. As for you guys that already have gotten ripped off, tell the police and get them involved. If you feel he is out of the country and they have done/said anything call the FBI and let them handle it.

This is a bank account fraud.

These are Nigerian scammers who prey on craigslist sellers.  Beware if they offer you a check for more than you ask for and want you to send the balance via Western Union or Moneygram.  The words "Western Union" should make the red flags fly.
They will usually ask you to remove your craigslist ad.  Don't do it.
Other warning signs: bad English, non-American spellings or terms ("mobile" instead of "cell phone"), vagueness about the item you're selling.

heres his new messenger.  hwcalvin_luk@hotmail.com  got an invite to accept his messenger. looked it up and it gave me the infamous ip address. 212.162.1.124. emailfinder.com guarantees being able to find this person. hasnt screwed me. so i have nothing to gain. if ur intrsted i think the subscription is pretty cheap. it shows hes coming out of WA. but when i did a further background it showed germany. he's probably using a proxy server.
