- Brian Cross| 2 repliesThis is a debt collection company that operates out of Seattle Washington and collects debts from mainly telecommunications companies such as a cell phone or AT&T phone bill. The automated message uses a computer that reads the data in databases and then calls the number that is listed in the file as placed by a client.
If you are receiving calls from this debt collector it’s time to check your credit report and insure that there are no debts that were placed in your name. Calling back the number insures you can tackle the problem quickly and easily.
However, this phone number based out of Washington uses Pacific Standard Time. It begins calling at 7 AM and does not end until 7 PM at night Pacific Standard Time. That’s 8 Mountain, 9 Central, and 10 PM Eastern time.
To check your credit file for a free copy of your credit report and inspect it. If you make contact with the number given, ask for a copy of the debt they say you owe. Dispute what isn’t yours and negotiate what is. Even if you don’t have the money.- Caller: Unknown
- Old Bones replies to Brian CrossThis company: E R Solutions also collects debts for Citi Bank which covers many credit and gas cards as well as a conciderable list of other debts.

- Linda| 1 replyI received a recorded message and waited for someone to answer the phone A very agressive woman answered and wanted to know if xxxx was the last four numbers of my social security number. I told her you have no business asking for that type of information. Who are you. She said We have to verify that we are talking to the correct person is the last four numbers of your social security number xxxx. I finally got her to say who she was with and she said she was a collection agency collecting a debt for Entergy which is an electric company that I used over ten years ago. She said they hired this company in 2004. I said I owe no money and this better not turn up on my credit report. Then she read off an addresss from ten years ago here in town and I told her I will not talk to you any more and I am reporting you and she said, "You owe this debt." and hung up This should be against the law.

- Tammy replies to LindaLinda, this is against the law. http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml This is a list of the statute of limitations by states for different types of bills. they can still call you but they can't really do anything else. If you ask who they are they are required by law to tell you that information as well. Further, if you notify them in writing that you do not want to be called again, send it registered mail, they are not legally allowed to call you. Also if you tell them you dispute the bill they can not contact you until the dispute is settled.
Be wary folks- there are companies out there that buy up old old bills thaat they can not collect on anymore. then they harrass you. If you pay one cent you are verifying the bill, and from that point on, you have to pay every red cent legally. Also from the moment you make one payment, the statute of limitations resets and you start all over...so if you don't think you owe the bill, don't pay a thing until it is proven that you do owe it. Do not let them get away with just sending a statement that says you owe it either, make them prove that you signed something and agreed to the payment.
Most of these scam artists will fade away if you contest the bill. The legit ones will continue to call though, so pay the ones you owe, even if it is just $10 a month, anything you pay looks good if they try to take you to court. But don't pay if the statute of limitations has run out, because in most states, the bill will already be off your credit report and paying it puts it back on as a collection account, which looks bad. Sad to say, in that case you are better off not to pay your bills, but it's a loophole in the credit system that otherwise is designed just the screw over the consumer, so exploit the hell out of the one benifit we get if you can!
