They claimed to be from the Fraternal Order Of Police.  I told the caller that I am on a do-not-call list.

Same here: FOP memorial. VERY rude. Hung up when I politely said, "No, she's at work. May I take a message?" Wrote to org to complain.

Said they were raising money for police officers, especially for treatment for ones who have been victims. I asked them to give me a link to a website for more info, and they said they'd mail me something. I told them not to mail me anything, but to give me the website address, and he hung up.

Called asking for donations to the faternal order of police.  No name, no listing.  Told him we donate to the Intrepid Fallen Heros Fund, http://www.fallenheroesfund.org, he was not familiar with the fund.  Dont believe he was listing, wanted to call back in 6 months.

I answered since it looked local, but no one was there. I tried to call back and it just gets a busy signal.

I was told the same thing, FOP. They wanted a donation, I answered the phone because it looked like a local cell phone number.

No response when I answered incoming call.  Like others, I saw the area code and presumed it might be something important.

Get numerous calls, this one said they were with the Seattle Fire Fighters and were looking for a donation.  It always appears on my cell as "no name".  Irritating.

Didn't pick up.  No message left.  And my number IS on the national do-not-call registry.

I answered and he asked for the lady of the house, when I asked who was calling they hung up.

They called, and hung up when they got my answering machine..

I received a call this morning from 206-682-0415 also stating to be the WA State Fraternal Order of Police.  I am registered on the National Do Not Call Registry as many others have also stated.  They most likely are just fishing for money, without being an honest organization.  The man who called, cut me short when I explained I was on the NDNCR and hung up when I mentioned that our household does NOT make any donations from a telephone call request.  I could find no local information for the organization, but I DID call them back about an hour after receiving the call.  The woman who answered said she was in the Customer Service Department of the WA FOP and I reminded her that I was on the NDNCR and had documented receiving their call earlier.  I have received numerous calls lately and it seems that there are many more scams going on now, than ever before.  She took down my number and said she'd add it to their Do Not Call List.  I reminded her that they should have already removed my number as I am on the National Do Not Call Registry.  She continued to talk, but I cut her short, said Thank You and hung up.  As they had done to me earlier.

I answered the phone this morning, wondering who would be calling me so early in the morning (8:30a.m.)  This guy asked "Is this the lady of the house"?  I answered "yes it is".  Then he went on about the Wa. State Fraternal of Police and said to me "now who wouldn't want our police to be there for us when we need them"?  Then he asked for a donation (and the would send me a sticker to put on my car so people would see it and know that I helped our policeman) and I told him I don't do donations over the phone.  Then he said he could send me some information have me look it over and then possibly donate at a later date.  At that point I asked how he got my phone number and I also asked him if he had randomed dialed it; because our number is unlisted,  there was silence on the other end, I said "hello" and realized then that he had hung up on me when I asked how did he get my phone number.....

Call them and complain about there fund raising.

If this isn't the same organization indicate that's how the representation is being made.

Received a phone call from them this morning.  I didn't pick up the phone.

Received a call from this number; however, they hung up before my voice mail kicked in.  Listed as fop Mem Found on my caller id.  The number is a Qwest land line out of the Seattle area.  I, too, am on the Do Not Call registry; however, if calls are coming direct from an organization, and not from a hired telemarketing co., the organization is exempt from using the registry.  Just because you are on the Do Not Call registry doesn't mean all solicitation calls will stop.  Their are many organizations that do not have to comply with the list so it would be advantageous to find out who has to comply and who doesn't.  I have call rejection on my home line to reject calls from specific numbers so I just added this number to the list.  It's just another form of protection I have and I have stopped several irritating phone calls this way.  I also use call trace for those numbers that I cannot reject.
