2/16/2011  This phone number 206-687-9293 is also associated with the following number too: 425-507-0431, 631-731-3018,408-465-4053, 888-343-4933. They say that they represent Cash Advance and also a lawyers office.They also have threaten me that the Sheriff's office will be sending someone to arrest me. My credit will be ruin and that there is an arrest because of SSN Fraud. I have called the District Attorney General office and a very wonderful lady who happens to be the legal assistant helped me. She called these numbers that I gave her and she said
' THESE ARE FRAUD PEOPLE AND IT IS A SCAM" aDVISED ME TO NOT ANSWER OR IF i DO ANSWER TELL THEM THAT i HAVE REPORTED IT TO ALL THE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND THE POLICE.I reported it to the FBI, Police depart ( so I have proof that I have reported it )THE POLICE TOLD ME  100% THAT THESE THREATS WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE IT'S A SCAM and EQUIFAX credit bureau and my bank. People that call me could not even speak english. They have a very, very  heavy accent that one could barely undersatnd. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE PUT TO JAIL.

I've been getting unwanted calls from a "officer" Jeff Carter stating that I'm being sued on four counts from a cash advance company. I did apply a yr ago but didn't go through with the full process. He knows all my personal information & said if i didnt pay $500 today i would get incarcerated for 6months. He states to be calling from a Legal investigations Department . Sounds Middle east and threatened me.

Thank you that information was extremely helpful to me on what to do. I've also been getting those threatning calls. And they even knew names of my friends. That is scary.

i too have received multiple messages from multiple numbers including this one claiming they are from NCC (national crime center) Attorney Investigations, Federal Investigative department and more. I have reported to all relevant agencies, FBI, FTC, BBB, local PD, Homeland Security and National SS hotline, as well as placing a credit freeze on all accounts. what they are doing is HIGHLY ILLEGAL, and unfortunately very difficult to stop because they are not located in the USA. They use VOIP (voice over internet phone) or have prepaid phones like cricket phones with USA are codes and numbers shipped to them so they can continue to change numbers and continue the harassment. do not answer an unknown call. let it go to voice mail, and if threatened with police or any other action, save the message so you have a record of the harassment so if they ever DO catch them you have evidence.

I've been getting these calls also. I have also called the police dept.  They do have different number's they call from even restricted ones.  These people really need to be the ones who go to jail.

I received a voice mail from a Jeff Carter, who says he is from Financial Law Division.  He says legal matters are about to begin for a family member and that I am involved in the pending law suit.  He told me not to disregard the call because of serious consequences to me and my family member.  I have received these calls before from other numbers, but the person sounds the same.

I have gotten the same thing. Did anyone ever show up to arrest you?

I hav recieved a call from jeff carter to. He is stating he is going to have sheriffs come to my house and arrest me. They also said they would flag my credit and they are calling my work and my personal friends and I never even gave their numbers out

The same thing happened to me and the guy said his name was jeff carter and the 206 number if you call it it says hi welcome to magic jack hotline

after receiving several calls and reading what has happened to others , when i returned these phone calls  and have stated what i have read on the inetnet and that he is being reported  i am now unavaible to reach him. no one ever speaks english and when iasked if i can talk to someone who does i get no respnse.

The usual extortion scam has scammers using bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends. This is just a new variation of the same scam using insurance claim instead of payday loan data.

this has happen to me the last two weeks once i was told to pay 400.00 dollars and wheni told him to go to hell he called back and said he was going to put his finger up all my private parts  got ;last call friday i told them i called tv channel police fbi social security credit beraue  he said fine the fbi would come sooner  he asked for my lawyer information  bank fraud  this the second time in less then a year

he called me to  he wanted 500.00 dollars to settle this problem  i call poice and tv channel  had security codes put on my acts so no one could get in them  i also red flagged my credit  he flirted with my daughter in law  he knew alot about me

this is also the same name i was given. he is very hard to understand.

keep getting calls from this number and also an emergency number sayingthat if I don't call they will send the law to my house and job to verify info and that I have some serious allegations against my name and SSN andim facing serious legal actions

got a call back today from the same number now the guy says his name danny jones and that jeff  carter is his associate. told them i already calle d fbi   internet crime local police and a.g. beware of these 2 names. sounds like the same person who u can't even understand. told him he was a scam he didn't know what to say . we just hung up.

I tooo have gotten these stupid assss call..they sound like al qaeda... i told him to go *@#(! himself..how dare he threaten to take me to court..and when you want to leave a message he just say "after tone leave message"

This # is calling me too--now he's even acting like he's indignant when he leaves a message...like what's the problem Lisa--you need to call me back--I have an affidavit with your social security #---and that he will have an officer come to my house--scary he knows the address.  I had told him that I knew this was a scam and to never call my number again and the calls just get closer together and more persistent.

I received the same kind of call today from Austin Phillips (heavy Indian accent) representing Jeff Carter company from number (347) 875-8418. It gave me couple of hours of stress before I actually checked all the facts. Thank you for posting this information.
