- AbdulRobo call left Msg for an unknown person
- Buzztower| 1 replyCommonwealth Financial Systems - Debt Collectors out Washington State obviously after the person/people that had this phone number before I got it. It does no good to talk to them and try to explain that I am not the party they are looking for, it only encourages them to continue calling. My only option is to start blocking their calls.

- Resident47 replies to BuzztowerBlock-ignore is not your only option, nor is it the best one. Ignorance of verbal no-call demands is very common for this industry. Mistrust of any ''wrong number'' claim is standard procedure at all the rogue collection agencies. To halt the misfired skip trace calls, laying a paper trail is far more effective than verbal denials. My advice for "not me" cases is found here:

http://www.consumerfinance.gov/askcfpb/search ... debt-collection - unwanted callI answered and they hung up. I called back and they hung up. You can't trust someone like that wanting a payment who won't talk to you. And it was the same guy until I got sent to a full voicemail. Sketchy.
- ldbinwa| 1 replyCalls and hangs up several times a day.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tay replies to ldbinwaI get the same, call and hang up!
- TayCalls several times a day, 2 rings, hang up. Won't leave a message!
- jgThese scammers who call me they can call forever I don't care because I have ID Caller on a TV that saves and if I don't know the caller oh well I do not answer. I am handicapped and I can't keep running to the phone for every little ring. So I disconnect my phone and if I start getting build up of scammers call I take a camera snap picture of phone numbers and send them to the FCC. I can not block my phone because I have relative over sea and if I put block on my phone there number will get blocked so I just have my phone unhooked.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
