- Frankie| 7 repliesYeah....me too! West central NJ. The sheer number of calls is disturbing but what really bothers me is the pattern of calls. Look at the geographic areas called. The calls are all over the place. It is almost as if the caller is purposefully "tagging" different areas of the country. Why?? They leave no message?!? They are content to just "hit" a "live" phone number....like they want to make sure that if they use that phone number for some other reason they know it will be a valid phone number. Someone suggested the purpose is to drive up costs associated with receiving calls. Are all of your calls to a mobile or landline phone? Anyone else reporting, it would be nice to indicate where you are from, if it is a mobile number, time of day, etc. so eventually we can figure out the "purpose". I am concerned the purpose is a little darker than just driving up mobile phone bills. They may be using validated phone numbers for some kind of theft identity purpose, or to create false identities.
- Frankie...further, all of the calls are within 24 hours! I will feel real bad if some catastrophe occurs in the next day or two. Does anyone know how to report this to Homeland Security?
- Frankie| 1 replyPardon me, I mean the pattern of calls is getting closer to a 24 hour spread. First call listed here is 8/7/2013, then 10/2/14, then 4 calls 10/10/14, 3 calls 10/11/14, I am the first "listed" today and that is just the callers who took the time to report the calls. How many other calls and areas of the country are involved? And why do the calls seem to be increasing just within these last few days?
- Frankie...list your mobile carrier too!
