granddaughter called me from this number, said it was a phone booth, when I tried to call it back, the message stated this number was  disconnected?????????????? So where is this phone booth or is it really a phone booth..??

I just got a call from them - didn't answer it, they didn't leave a message.  I suspect it's a debt collection agency, as I've recently had a rash of calls from the Seattle area, one of which WAS a debt collector (they asked for a previous person that lived here and I still get calls for her).

This number is provided by MCIMETRO ACCESS TRANSMISSION SERVICES, LLC. This is a CLEC in the Seattle area. I don't know who the company is that is using the number. The only thing the caller ID said was Washington. I get a disconnect recording when calling the number. This indicates to me the number is fictitious and is probably being used by a telemarketing company. Bill collectors are required to show a working number on the caller ID.

Further investigation, the carrier that provides the service is Verizon. this is who sells the service to MCIMetro to be resold to whomever is making these calls!

I received the same call just to see what it is all about.  The response was a recording selling vacation services.  I immediately tried to call the number back and received a recording that the number was disconnected.  I updated my contact list with this number to show it as a SCAM so that I don't answer the call anymore.

We are a business in WV and got a hang-up call from this number.  When I tried to call it back I got the "number disconnected" recorded message.

If it's a debt collector they're looking in the wrong place as we don't owe anyone anything!

Just received a call from this number and shows up as Washington on my caller ID. The miute I said "hello" the call was disconnected. Called back and the number is not in service.

Just got a hang-up call from this number. Caller ID shows the caller as Sense Net...Google searches turn up a variety of businesses with that name, but none, as far as I can tell, in the 206 area code.

Amy wants me to call 800-917-1211 to see if I qualify for elimination of my timeshare maintenance fees.  We all know this is a scam.  If it was legit, it wouldn't come in as "Washington".  I didn't answer it, "she" just left a message on my answering machine.  Lucky me:)

Call came in at 8:46 AM on a Sunday and left no message. Caller ID was WASHINGTON.

I just got a call from this number but the strange thing was...a friend must have called at the same time because when I played back my messages, he was on there and not the Washington numberP:)  Very strange...because his number did not show up on my caller ID.

Caller Id said Washington.  No message on answering machine.

Same here, caller ID said Washington...... Picked it up on the first ring but just got dead air. Thanks to people like this, I think it's time to invest in a call blocker!

Even stranger,  yesterday I placed a call on my cell phone to my house phone in NY,  my husband answered and the caller id showed the above number in question.  

We have Verizon as our carrier.  I have a 631 area code and not even close to my phone number.  Weird.

On March 26 I had the exact same experience as Rainey, an unlikely coincidence.
