I just got the same call on my cell phone with a voice mail message stating that it was the IRS and I was being sued.  It came through as UNKNOWN so I didn't pick up.

I just got the same call with a voice message stating that it was the IRS and I was being sue. It came in as unavailable 1, this was my final notice call 206-801-5201. I called and spoke to someone that could not speak English good. Said their name was Mike badge # 602605. Started telling me that they were going to take my property, bank accounts and all my belonging. When I told them that could not be done and IRS does not call you personally. I was contacting IRS and turning them in for a scam that the conversation was being recorded he hung up.

I've gotten 3 calls from these idiots.  Two were from another number - same scam.  Called the first number and cussed them out.  Guess they decided to try me with this number.  Guess they are really stupid if they think I'll fall for that!

Got a call from 206-801-5201 with automated message stating "to find out more information about this case call 206-801-5201"  That is all it said.  Made no sense at all.

I knew it was a scam, but what the heck, I'm ready for a good scam.   I called them back.  I said, "Hello, is this the IRS?"  He said, "Yes", answering in a middle-Easter dialect.  Then he said, "Is this Mr. #@&%(*& ?"  I said, "Yes".  They have caller I.D..  Then he said, "How can you have name like that?", and he hung up.  Because I have a Slovak name, I guess he thought my name was fictitious.  I have been trying to call them back, but the line is always busy.  I hope the IRS doesn't take all my assets now and throw me in jail.  HELP!!!

Tried to record the convo. No go, it's a magic jack line. When someone doesn't co op they block the number. Then it rings busy for you. if you want to mess with them use another phone line to call from.

Automated call left on my answering machine.  Since I know the IRS does not initiate phone calls such as this, I then googled the phone number.  Sure enough the search confirmed the scam.

I got the same sort of call. Last night, came up as unknown number. A computer left the following message
" Inform you the IRS is filing law suits against you, to get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number  206-801-5201

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

Daily automated called fraudulently identifying themselves as the IRS and trying to scare people by saying they are being sued by the US Government.
