I received a call at 8:00 this morning, message only, stating that the IRS is going to file a lawsuit against me.  This is my final notice because they have been trying to get in touch with me for some time.  I was asked to call back to 206-855-6178. That number is from Bainbridge Island, WA and was busy.  My caller ID shows the last call was from Name Unavailable, (same time), 721-592-6584.  Number also busy.

These are just bill collectors.

This is a scam, claiming to be from the IRS.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

IRS does not file lawsuits.  Tax disputes are civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes.   If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

No, they are Indian or Pakistani hard core scammer/extortionists.  Outside the reach of US law.  Call block might help.

I also received a call fro 206-855-6178, claiming to be the IRS and this was my final call and they would be filing. I doubt the IRS does anything like this over the phone, and reverse call look up said it was a private line from Bainbridge Island- not the usual IRS hangout. I wouldn't rule out the debt collector scam though- someone has used my phone number for some unpaid bills and I get calls from people looking for someone with a name that sounds like my cat coughing up a hairball.

Total scam to get info from you. IRS does not file lawsuits and would send you notice by mail first. Ignore!

This is a scam they are trying to get access to my accts

Got a call from 011 asking to claim my federal grant money by calling back the number 206-855-6178. $10,200.00. Very suspicious.

i called them, just to troll. the phone call was hilarious. it ended with the scam artist saying he was gonna be feed me an "ak47 bullet" for killing his brother, bin-laden. i laughed uncontrollably for 10min. afterwards he told me, he knew john cena, and was gonna have him beat me up... priceless phone call
