It is definitely NOT legit. It's a well known scam to get your $250, which you will never get back, nor will you see one red cent of the $7000. Don't be a victim. Block the number.

they call saying I won a grant. And give me an ID number so I can claim my winnings. They ask me how would I like to receive my money and I say cash, not giving them my account number. I when to ask walmart because they supposed to send the money through them. And Walmart lady confirmed it was a scam.

This idiot called and said I won a $7000 federal grant that I will never have to pay back. I got very upset because when he gave me the callback number I was led to this site. As bad as people need money these days, there are Mother Fuc!@#s who will try stuff like this. It took my best not to curse him out!!!

    Dude......
               ****** SCAM********
Yep, the same as listed above. $7,000, that i wouldnt have to pay back......gave me "grant approval ID". They said they were calling from Federal Reserve Bank in NYC (Claims Dept) and gave me 3 ways to collect.....
-Money Gram from Walmart (for cash)
-they would send card in mail
-Direct Deposit. then asked for my
                   card # .....(red flags,NEVER give
                    acct. # to anyone)
They said I would have to send $250.00 ?that would be refunded when I accept my winnings. They HAD my address, and asked for other information for verification (didnt give)...the names that were given (operators) were Frankie Maclin and Robin (a guy) Cooper at ext.#105, but sounded more like Mohammed and Khumar. Definitely a scam. *DO NOT FALL FOR THIS* They also said I could have money whithin 15 minutes after receiving/approval. Originally said i was one of 15 hundred people in my area that were pre-selected......I said wow. It sounded like they were calling from a "call center ". My caller ID listed the call from Washington D.C. but had a 206 area code (washington state).*DONT BE A DUMMY* and lose $250.00.

Good grief!  Why would anyone go through with a obvious scam?  The Federal Government has warnings on multiple websites alerting citizens about this scam.  Unfortunately enough people are either naive enough or desperate enough to send them the money and learn for themselves, often quite painfully, that this is a scam.
