- CANTUBURYI GOT THE SAME call. it sounded like a collection agency. they said a name when I called but an answering machine said to leave a message. it must be an advertisement like phone spam. i am going to block the number. I have friends in seattle, but its not them. thanks, everybody for reporting this I had no idea it was so ubiquitous on our phones
- Call type: Telemarketer
- chrisi received similar calls from this number as well.. about 1-2 times daily, usually in the morning, for the past 4 days. i havent picked up and no message has been left. i tried calling back with a blocked caller id phone, but there's an answering machine that says to send a fax or leave a message. this is really getting annoying..thanks for all the info.
- redI received one on Wednesday, no message, and two on Thursday with the same result. The only information I got was on caller id, and it was ITL. Today they called, and this time I answered. Someone with a VERY thick Indian-like accent was asking for my husband (they knew his name). When I said that he wasn't home and to never call again, they then asked if this was a "fake-name trading company". Has anyone reported this to the National Do-not-call people? Not sure if it would do any good.
- Cne9999Called me several times. SoI called back hiding my number. I got a fax/answering machine. I bet its a scam.

- b-squared206-888-4362 has called our office at least once a week for the past 4-5 months. They're calling on behalf of Successful Meetings Magazine, always asking for the person in our office who is responsible for company meetings, outings, etc.

- PackAttackThese people won't stop! 2-3 calls a day for the past two weeks. I never answer, but I've got a good mind to go Seinfeld on them and ask if I can have their home number so I can call them back when I am not busy.
- JerryHave received calls repeatedly for the past 3-4 months and they never leave a message. Obviously, it must be a solicitation or who knows, but it is getting very annoying. If they were legitimate, then they would leave a message and you could call them and get a live person and find out what the deal is.
- Caller: ITL

- snapdragon replies to anastacia| 2 repliesGot a call today. No caller ID, but googled the number and found this site.
Since they (Meeting News, etal.) are pushing magazine subscriptions, it would make sense that ITL would be a telemarketing company. Many trade magazines that couldn't sell a magazine subscription to their mothers rely on free subscriptions to increase readership numbers in order to justify advertising rates in their rags.
These free subscription pitches usually require answering a few questions to qualify the callee with respect to personal or professional demographics that would appeal to the advertisers and to get them an approved circulation audit that proves to the advertisers that they, in fact, have the circulation they claim.
Print media is taking it in the shorts for advertising revenue and many have not learned how to make the transition, or rather, to generate a combined media approach with their websites and other such media outlet capabilities. So, they hire telemarketing firms with high pressure pitches. Unfortunately, until print media understands this dynamic, these kinds of issues will continue to occur.
