Same scam artists using different fake # - no callback possible, just fast busy signal indicating a non-working number.  No legit business would ever use spoof #s during cold calls.

Called and said he was calling regarding a legal matter and that if I ignored the call I would be setting myself up to appear before a magistrate judge.  Why would anyone from Seattle be calling regarding a legal matter in LA.  Scam!!!!!!!

Message received on answering machine.  Caller claimed to be calling about a legal matter. He gave a name, David something , but did not identify who he was with.

Just received same type of call. Maybe 1 out of a 1000 will actually respond to him. not me! Will try to see if I can block with my new Ooma phone service.

Same just happened to my elderly mother! Which totally freaked her out. Caller said he was "David Frank" calling from US Department of Treasury, Legal Affairs, He wanted her to pay $6,000+ from 2010 taxes she never owed. Mr. Frank stated that a federal arrest warrant has been issued and she would be arrested and go to jail for 30 days. Thank goodness I am an attorney. My mother immediately contacted me and the individual refused to speak to me. I requested to speak with the gentleman's supervisor and he hung up.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
