A Lady who said her name is Mary Jones an that she works at the Washington DC Grant Treasury's Department saying I have been selected along with a hand full of people to get this grant she gave me a number her so called bosses name David Walton an told me to call I did an he said I needed to pay a one time only fee an I told No thank You you can keep it an hung up they thought they had me an I thought for a sec that it was real :( :( :( yeah not in my lifetime or any other

Received a call from a William Thompson.  He said he works for the US Treasury & Grant Department at 200 SW Independance Avenue, Washington, DC.  He said I was chosen out of 1,500 citizens to receive a $8,400 loyalty financial assistance grant and gave me a grant approval #.  He told me to call this number (206-905-9579) right away and talk to his Accounting Officer to advise him where I would like to have my money wired.  (He also said I could have the money put on my credit card, but, of course, I did not give that # out.)  
How can we get these scam calls to stop??

I had a call from these people saying i qualified for a grant from the goverment for $8,400 and if i had any kind of debit card they can send the money so they gave me a authorization code and a number to call to speak to david walton and give him the authorization code i asked him y was the goverment just gone give free money he said bc i was a good citizen with no criminal record and pay my taxes on time  so he said u have a debit card i said no he said we can send it thru western union but u have to pay $150 first and we can send i said y u cant take it out the $8,400 he said its just a one time fee i said no thank u gud buy.

Same thing happened to me, both sounded like English was their second language and the accounting person (the one they had me call) said his name was Stephen.  Very scripted dialog.  (206)-905-9579.

A woman with a broken English called my cell with a blocked number and said that she works at the Washington DC Grant Treasury's Department. She told me I have been selected along with a hand full of people to get a grant of $8400. She gave me a number to call and to ask for David Walton. She also started asking for my address and other information so I immediately hang up! What a scam!!! Beware

I got a call from this number today. It's a recording stating the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. I have received this call before coming from another phone number. The IRS contacts people by mail not phone calls. I didn't stay on the line to talk to anyone.

I got a robot call on my office phone (which is not known to the IRS) claiming to be from the IRS, saying they were filing a lawsuit against me. The call did not mention me by name. They said I should call back that number for more information. I did not call back.

Same thing just happened to me

I received the same call.  I called back and a man "named" paul smith and cliff margin (broken english) got on the phone and claimed the same things.  A lawsuit was being filed against me by the IRS etc.  They claimed to be sending a sheriff over in 45 minutes and saying they would take my license and revoke it.  I hung up and realized it was a scam.
Is there a way to report these people?

Just got the same message "IRS Filing suit" IRS notifies by mail !!! SCAM...

Just received call from this number (7-14-2015) ... The source had a computer generated voice (robotic) message advising me that the IRS was suing me and was beginning to advise me on the details when I hung up. Will this nonsense never end?

I just got call from this #  but it shows on my ID +2069059579  I am being sued by the IRS and this is the final call, since they have been trying to notify me.  What a scam.  IRS notifies by mail, not by phone especially since they do not have my phone #

As stated above, this is the IRS lawsuit scam. I listened through the recorded message just to see how sophisticated a criminal effort it was, and the answer is "not very."

Same here.  Tried calling the number back and its disconnected.  Deleted message and ignoring it.
