Keep getting calls from this number several times a day.  Never any message left...but constantly calling.  Calling the number back leads to nothing but dead air...not even a ring or message saying this number doesn't receive incoming calls.

called at 415pm ak time. did not respond when I said hello then disconnected from me

Have not had a problem with this number until now, but today they called me several times. I called them back one time and a machine message said something to the effect of "we called you to have you answer an opinion poll. We are sorry if this has inconvenienced you." Obviously some sort of CYA [***]. They call over and over again, and nobody ever speaks.

No message, hang up. They called 3 times today, hung up.
I called back and they said it was about a public opinion poll, sorry.

Called home three times and never left a message ~ when I called the number back I recieved a recorded message saying it was a public opinion poll, sorry if they inconvenienced me ~

Telemarketers have no souls

The exact same thing has happened to me today (5 times already) recorder comes on and they hang up.  Did not bother to call it back, glad you saved me the time.  It is very annoying

No message.  The recorder picks up, the hang up.  Have called 5 times today (20/25/2010).

Its the AFL CIO. Chances are good someone in your household is a union member. They want to know who you are voting for, then they try and convince you to vote for who they want. What I do is find the president of the local chapter's home phone and call repeatedly with nothing but Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up playing loud as hell.
