I own a BBQ Catering company in South Florida and got an email from this lady claiming to want to put an order in but this scam happened to me a couple of years ago so I knew right away not to respond. Last time it happened like you said by relay service with the deaf and I didn't catch on so quickly. What a fool I was. Anytime now I get one of those calls I tell the operator right away that its a scam and they need to report it right away. These people are tricky. And please report it. It is the only way they can be stopped doing this.

My wife got a call from "Dan Nakada" today for an order for 300 people.  She called me and said "I wonder how many people fall for this crap?".  We had someone else call about 1 1/2 years ago asking for gluten free (our business) birthday cake/etc for 300 people.  I played along until they said chage extra and pay the shipper an aextra $450.00.  I told the TTY operator that it was a scam and hung up.  Don't think it was the same people, but similar calls with TTY both times.  You would think these people would be smart enough to at least change the name they are using so we can't find the scams so easily.

Actually, just looking more closely, the fax came from a local number 720-223-7274 from an Angel Villarreal.  Perhaps these scammers are making an attempt to seem more legitimate.  If they ever get someone who speaks and writes English correctly, the terrible writing is always my first clue!

I have half a mind to email this idiot scammer and say that I would like to charitabily donate the meals and use my own shipper so as not to incurre him any extra cost and see how he starts to back peddal.

This person is at it again, sent 2 faxes to my restaurant with the same wording then responded with the exact wording I have seen oin this posting.  Thank Heavens for Google!!!!!   Stopped this person cold!!!!!

Just got a fax for the food for 300 ppl. Email given was dannakata99@gmail.com. Fax number was 7202237274. I have had the IP Relay scam attempted on me before, so I googled the name and found this site.

This "guy", Dan Nakata, is still at it.  I manage a restaurant in Louisville, KY, and just within the last three months I have gotten at least 4 faxes regarding catering, and at least 3 AT&T operator assisted phone calls for the same.  I can't believe ANYONE would be dumb enough to fall for either of these scams, but I often overestimate the general intelligence of the American public (if anyone actually takes the time to read what we're being sent, it is immediately all too obvious that it's a scam, and a poorly written one at that!).  I too am tired of these SOBs that waste our time, energy, and materials with no consequence.  These people take advantage of the hearing impaired service, and tie up the system for those that really need it.  I am posting the email link I was sent today below...in my free computer time, I plan on sending F-U emails to the address they sent with the hope of at least being annoying, since it appears that no punishment will likely ever happen.  Follow suit if these scammers irritate enough to care.

Mr. Nakata is also using a fax form requesting work for his Escalade and Ford P/up. I suspected a fraud and googled his name-Wow! Be carefull!

Same email sent to a Tex/Mex chain. I knew it was spam instantly from the repetitive information and poor grammar: the August 31st, pick up at 3 pm repeated 6 times, wants to know who the owner is multiple times and not a clue on punctuation.

My condolences to anyone who gets caught with this scam.

I received an email from this man, saying he was going in the hospital to have his hearing repaired and he needed his RV towed from New York to Yuma where he now lives, and wanted it towed to our service center. Of course he wanted to pay with a credit card and have us western union it to the tow company in New York.  I also thought it was a scam, so we googled him and found this site.. What a turd, you just have to be careful when your a small business owner...

What a joke!  Look at his writing.  It is very obvious that he doesn't speak English.  Hopefully, all are smart enough to know from the onset that this is bogus!

This exact order just came into my catering business!! For 300 people, no phone number, just wanted a quote.  The emails I was given were all different and didn't match the name of the person who signed the email.  he said he was recovering from surgery.....I'm way to busy with catering to deal with scams!

Just tried this with my BBQ place in Pittsburgh!!! I copied and pasted the info I found on this page and sent it back to him.  I really pisses me off!

Okay fine i understand that the total price is $5031.46, I want you to understand that the private shipper that will pick up the food from you will be coming with a Temperature Controller truck to have all the food pick up. I want you to help me add extra $1800 plus the grand total of the food. So I want you to understand that the shipper is also the event coordinator. it will be picked up 3pm on the event date and also what i mean is that after charging the total of the food ordered, you will be helping me to charge additional $1,800 and you will have that send to the event coordinator which is also the shipper.  I want you to understand that you will have the $1800 send to them through Western Union Money Transfer. Because the shipper needs to pick up some other items for me such as chairs, tables, stages, tent. So let me know if you understand.  I will like to know if you accept discovery Card and do you have Western Union Around you .

We received an email from Wraskey Hallen aka Jim Bishop, regarding his wife's wrecking his "beloved" cadillac and wanting to have it towed to our shop for repairs. I googled the email address and found this forum before responding. , I am thankful that I did. Now I know it is a scam, so shall delete the email. Thanks all.
