Is this number part of a company named Black and Veatch Incorporation?

Hi, a Richard Jolly submitted a rental application to me, offering this same number to contact the CFO of Black and Veatch.  I am amazed to find your question here, and it serves to answer mine that he is not providing acceptable references.

I will be coming to the state for the next one year and during my stay, I will be working with Black & Veatch Incorporation a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company specializing in infrastructure development in energy, water, telecommunications, management consulting, federal and environmental markets.

My sole  financier that is based in the States  will be handling the rent deposit payment on my behalf, I will instruct him to send you a Certified Check for this as soon as you give me the go ahead to make out payment to you. Due to the limited time that we have before our arrival, we are making arrangements with a furniture company to supply the home with furnitures,so we will need you to provide us with the the following:

# Measurements of the living room and bedroom.

# Picture viewing the living room and the bed room(s).

# As regards the lease agreement and application, I want you to send it to me for my review. I will eventually have it filled and signed on my arrival in your place as I am of the opinion that such documents are best filled and signed physically by appending signatory at best physical. We can start the lease by asap and I will be doing a one year lease. You can prepare the lease in my name.

I will look forward to your e-mail with the required information.

I got an almost identical letter from someone wanting to rent my property in Charlotte, NC.  From a Liz Mendez:

 I got your email and thanks for responding back in such a timely manner, i want you to know that i am really interested in renting the unit from you but first i will like to make a little introduction about my self, my name is Liz Mendez, i am an architect and i am currently working with the Wessex Survey & Design construction company situated at site 115 BB11 5SG Reginalde building in Manchester England.  The company is one of the leading construction company in England and we are specialized in taking exhibitions,holding lectures and special events for both adult and youth education activities in architectural development. i would be coming over to the United State for the next 12 months for a private research on educational architectural and construction design and also to work with the United State Architecture Foundation (USAF) and i will be working with Mr Phillip Trimnell the C.E.O of company and you can call him on his number 206-984-9302 for employment verification, i would have refered you to the company's website but it is on an extensive maintenance with the host client but i will let you know once it is ready.

I got the exact letter in New Mexico in response to my ad in Craig's list.

Well this is obviously bogus and part of a scam or scams.  I got an email similar to others appearing here in respons to a Craigs list add for a house we are renting in Elk Grove, CA.  In the email the number was for the Black & Veatch CFO.  Black & Veatch is a large intenational engineering company; they are not headquartered in Washington state although they do have an office there; no CFO for Black & Veatch in Washington state.

My advice is do what I am doing, ignore this.

Thanks for the posts.  I googled Liz Mendes and found this post.  She responded to an ad on Craigslist to rent our house, with almost identical wording used in the last post, only this time she is an artist from Canada:

I received this exact message from Mr. Jolly on April 13th. Guess he hasn't made it to the states yet!

I got the exact same letter from Richard Jolly. Apparently they want to live in Alaska too. They are getting more sophisticated. I googled two companies and his name. There are a couple of engineers by that name and the companies really exist. But this is obviously a fraud!

I have an engineer currently my roommate who has an engineer boyfriend from England.

so glad i found this string.  I got the same message for my rental in Philly that i posted on craigslist.  I started feeling bad for her, glad i insisted on getting more info. on her.

This person is now Kweem Willow. He works for Kiewit and would like to rent a home in Wisconsin too. The letters are almost exactly cut and paste as those above.

I did not receive a package. Did you? That's really scary.

I did receive a package today, UPS not FedEx. I plan to fill out an FBI report. Thanks to all above.
