Just got a call from this number and no message was left.  Came up on Caller ID as follows:
Breast Cancer S
207-517-2144

Got a call from this number last night, said they were raising money to support families financially drained by medical bills from breast cancer.  ID Just showed the city name, no business name.  No foundation or organization name was mentioned.

might sound good, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.
unless you know for a fact who it is, dont give out info.
in fact I wouldnt give it out at all on the phone.
in todays world with new scams happening all the time,
giving out your info is scary anywhere

Called today answered got silence. Checked the number online and saw this site. Won't answer if they call again.

Also got the Breast Cancer Society!

I'd call this a robotic scam.  They had my first name, used a cutesy "getting hold of you is more difficult than getting my kids...." come on, then the recorded message said something about breast cancer.  I tried to stop the patter and realized then that it was a prerecorded message, not even a real person.  DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS AT ALL BUT HANG UP ON THEM.  If there were ever a scam, this is it.  Next step for me is the national do not call list with this number, for whatever small amount of good that will do to stop them.

Yes you give them your CC card number and they party down south with it. Dont give info to these people.

These calls are coming in at a steady pace, anyone know how to stop them? With the recent death of my spouse I do not need harrassment calls, I just want peace and quiet here. They are calling at all hours. I do not pick up any unknown caller ID number until I check first, this one I was certain was computer generated with the frequency of the calls. It does show Breast Cancer S on my ID read out, but if I want to donate I will do that on my own.

We used to get a lot of calls from this outfit until we began blocking them--which is probably your best bet. Contact your telecommunications provider for assistance in blocking the calls or invest in a device that can be programmed to automatically reject unwanted calls.

They call incessantly. 3-4 times/day, even weekends. Yesterday I answered and the woman jokingly said I was harder to reach than her kids. Maybe if her kids had caller id they wouldn't answer at all. Will block this number. It is a fund raiser. But don't cold call me.
