This is a phone number for a Verizon IP Relay server. Anyone who has your phone number COULD call you thru IP Relay.  I used to work as a relay operator. Operators do NOT know who you are or who is calling you. IP Relay is intended for people who are deaf or hard of hearing to call people who aren't. However it's exploited by teenagers who anonymously prank call their friends, enemies, etc.  Lots of obscene phone calls are made this way.

It's also exploited by scammers from foreign countries who call small businesses and people selling things thru Craigslist, newspaper classifieds, etc.  The scammer tries to get your email address and then emails asking for personal info. I think they try to pass a fake check, money order or Western union payment for larger than the amount of the item and want you to send them the money. Be very skeptical and if it seems at all funny DON'T COMPLY! Businesses are supposed to take relay calls because to not do so would be discrimination, but they certainly don't have to comply!  If you received unwanted relay calls at home or on your cell phone please be nice to the operator & just HANG UP! Keep on hanging up if they call back!

My girlfriend got a call 3-16-08 at 10:00pm PST, from this number, asking her to respond to questions being relayed by a computer enabled voice.   She thought it was a friend playing a prank, then hung up when she began suspecting that it wasn't a friend.  Very strange.

I got a call saying I owe my bank $500 for an overdraft of $40 at a gas station. They knew my name and what bank I belong to but I know IP relays are annonymous. WHO IS THIS?
