Constant calls each day; I am never home when this number calls, but they constantly hang up after the voice mail has started recording, causing me to come home to several "hang-up" messages on my machine. (Just a short pause and the sound of hanging up, no actual message...) The number is based out of Maine; I live in California and do not know anyone in Maine. Calling the number back gives you a voice mail for "Scout Med," whatever that is. They give you two options: leave your name and number to inquire about services, or leave your number to be taken off of their list.

I am getting the same calls from the same number, they say to call back at a different number: 207-618-1454.  The common ground is that I called for my daughter (13 yr old) who wanted this stupid hair iron for her mother for Christmas.  She thought it was only $14.99 but as it turns out, there's THREE additional payments of $39.99.  That's nearly $135.00!!! What a rip off.  Anyways, I called Instyler before I knew their website and the terms to get their website address and saw that while I was still on the phone with their sales department.  She tried everything to keep me on the phone short of giving me a BJ over the phone.  Now I keep getting them calling me from the 207-618-1431 number, every day.  It's old and I'm going to do everything I can to get them fined or join a lawsuit.  If you hear of one, please let me know.

I also called to inquire about that hair straightener the other day and have since gotten a phone call on my caller ID from this Maine phone number.  And I never left them my full name or number when I called them.  I hung up after the woman answered and I gave her only my first name and then mmediately said "Nevermind" because at the same time my husband found on the internet how expensive this item was.  So why is this company collecting and calling back phone numbers?

This same thing happened to us.  We called on the instyler and we are getting the same thing.  Our initial phone call was just to inquire, we were not interested at all.  We were not on the phone for more that two min.

Same as previous complaints above against this company, InStyler: I phoned them about the product after seeing it advertised on TV for $14.99.  Turned out the product was a bait-and-switch deal; they stated there would be several more billings totaling ten times that amount.  I declined, and ever since, their telemarketing voice-mail message has been plaguing me twice a day.  I phoned them several times, requesting to be removed from their phone list.  They said I would be removed from it within 48 hours, each time I called.  Now, nearly a month later, I am STILL receiving these calls; they are apparently doing nothing to stop it.

I bought the instyler for my mother.  It caught her hair, pulled some of it out, made a huge mess with her hair.  She experienced severe pain, and can not understand how such a dangerous device is sold without warnings.  This product can hurt you.   Avoid it - plus its very expensive.  Almost $135!US.

I calld Instyler at 1-800-477-7261 a wk ago and was inquiring about their product when I was told that it was $135.00 I told the nice lady that's okay b/c I thought it was $14.99 she tried offering me a free trip some where but I declined now today I have received 6 calls from 1-207-618-1431 not on my home phone but on my cell that's the phone I used to call them so they must have caller ID..........

I had the same problem as you did. I called the 800 number just to inquire about the instyler where the rep was trying every trick you could think of to get me to take the trial. For one, taking their trial offer would have me paying more than if I were to just buy it without the trial. I had no choice but to hang up becuase she would not let me go. Within the same day I had been getting phone calls from the 207 number, I'm talking 8-12 times per day. It had been two months since I called about the Instyler and I just couldn't take it anymore and actually DID something about it:

1: I called the actual number and was directed to a rep for some stupid advertisement. I told them that I wanted off their calling list and they informed me that I would be taken off within 24-48 hours. This obviously didn't happen and I purposely waited a full month to have them take me off. Within that month, I called 4 times and they still hadn't taken me off. But that's okey because:

2: I have a record of all the times I called them on my phone bill.

3: I took it to a lawyer and got a FREE consultation. Lawyers typically give free consultations and during that I was told that I could file a lawsuit and that the company would also have to provide a phone recordig of my conversaiosn with the rep claiming that I wanted to recieve no more calls. The phone bill helps because it shows proof that I was making atempts to stop the calls.

4: I called the number back and told them what the lawyer told me, and ever since then the calls HAVE STOPPED!!

You don't have to go as far as I did. I wanted to seriously sue these people for messing with my privacy so I went to the lawyer. But all you have to do is tell them that it's illegal to bombard you with phone calls or even have your number without your consent and that you can sue them for it. IT WORKED FOR ME and IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO BE BOTHERING YOU LIKE THIS!!! So pick that phone and tell 'em about it! Be firm when you're talking to them and tell them you can sue. Trust me, you wont be getting calls from them anymore.

you can try it for 30 days for that. Than charge you 39.99 for 4 payments. Right bait & which. Do not leave message hangs up.

Called late Sunday from my cell phone to get the details on the Instyler.  They normally call while I am at work, 2 or 3 times a day, and I get "missed call" alerts.  Make it stop!!!!!

I called and talked to the same woman 3 times. I have been getting calls asking for my YOUNGER SISTERS and I immediately say no, and hang up. They call back within 2 seconds to ask for my other sister, I again say no, and hang up. After reading what is on here, I called the number, got pushed to a rep, put on my "P'OED" voice, and sternly told her to take my number off her list. They have not called back yet, but I'm waiting for it. Next time they call, I will say I have a lawyer, and tell them that it is illegal to bombard MINORS to buy a stupid product that won't work, and see what they do. I'll keep y'all posted.

Well this site has finally solved my mystery.  When I googled 207-618-1431, I found this.  My calls began after I called in response to an infomercial for the INSTYLER.  Same thing, the offer was for $14.99 (but just as a trial)  After the trial, they wanted something like 3 payments of $30 or $40, so I said no thank-you and ended the call.  Now, several times a day, I get these phone calls on my cell phone and they never leave a message.  These harrassing phone calls are driving me crazy!

I dont know who this is but i wish they would stop calling my phone contantly for the past 4 days.

Instyler!! It makes sense now. I called the other day to inquire and when I found out how much they wanted for it, I told them nevermind. The rep continued on about a buy 1 get one free, but nothing is free.
It's sad they keep the information. Like another lady said, I wasn't on the phone more than 60 seconds....why did they keep my info?

Ugh, I wish I had known this before I called for information about the product!  They call and ther eis never anyone on the other end. >:o

Didn't answer. Don't want them calling me. Look the number up and saw it was not someone or something I'm interested in. Have called my number several times.
