- F Hall (UK)| 1 replyYesterday(Wed)I received a tel call from a guy who called himself Michael, informing me I had probs with my computer, mentioned XP Pro, a virus and microsoft. He asked if my computer was on, when I said no, he requested that I turn it, again I said no. He was very persistent and asked if he could arrange a time with me when my computer would be turned on. By now I was getting fed up with him so told him no, that I was going to check up on him. I asked him again what company he was from and he said fix on click and gave me the website address www.fixonclick.com along with his telephone number 0208-099-0390 as I live in the UK but your Search Phone Number would not recognise it so I entered it without the zero and it has put a 1 in front of it. He stressed I should ask for Michael when I rang.
I have no intention of ringing him nor do I appreciate calls like this. Thankfully, I had my wits about me when he rang, someone else may have done as he asked, goodness knows what would have happened to their computer.- Caller: Fix On Click
- CSI had a strange phonecall from "Fixonclick"
A computer technician who in the begining made out that their was connected with Microsoft and were fixing infected computer on their behalf. He said that he obtained our contact details from our records. I asked how our computer could be infected since we used Norton and another piece of software. He said that Norton was continually playing catch up with the virius creators. He said that our computer was going slow because of an infection. He told me to turn on one of our computers and then guided me through a search which showed error messages and warnings. He then said that another technician would like to access my computer to fix the issues.
I became suspicious and asked my daughter to do a search for their company on another computer. She found your site and at that point I stopped the computer interaction. The technician had loaded a programme which scanned my computer for potential hazards. It was not from Microsoft and was just another one of these run of the mill programmes. It showed me that there were issues with registry etc that needed sorting. He wanted to charge me nearly £200 to look after our computers for one year.
I questioned him about their relationship with Microsoft and eventually he said that they were only endorsed by Microsoft to sell their products. I asked him what their company registration number and London address was and he passed me onto his supervisor saying that they were not allowed to give out that information. He said the telephone call was being recorded. I asked him why I was not made aware of it, since by law they had to inform me of this.
I questioned the supervisor about misrepresentation and not passing on information that by law they should etc. he became very evasive and said that I had their web address and phone number, that should suffice. I told him that I would be pursuing this with trading standards etc.- Caller: www.fixonclick123.com

- DavejwI am troubleshooting for a friend who got talked into paying money to these people and has not heard from them since. I have been able to find out a few things:
1. They operate from India. There does seem to be a UK phone number, but no office.
2. They offer, at a high price, what you can obtain and do on your computer for nothing
3. In their small print, there is a statement that for any information you give them, you also give the right to pass it on tothird parties. So you can expect to be bothered by other 'companies' offering you things and trying to get your money. FixOnClick have probably sold your details and made even more out of you.
4. They are NOT connected to, authorised by, or in any way endorsed by Microsoft. How they got your number was nothing to do with Microsoft error reports - they only go to Microsoft, and that's where they remain.
5. They sell by deception and mis-informing you. They get you to run checks which produce lists of information, then bamboozle you into thinking that those lists are detremental to your PC, when in fact, they are just your PC doing its work.
If you are happy with what they have done, that is almost an accident - and you have lost control over personal information as a part of the cost. You decide if that is worth the money they conned from you.- Caller: FixOnClick

- patrikafter reading Dave's write up i too got scared as have made a payment to FIX on Click. and was worried about my PC and money but as they accessed my PC. after they accessed my pc and did the job i was not that satisfied. As they made my desktop look wiered. Font became small and writting was not as crisp as before. i thought i have made a loss on money, i was about to ask for my money back. but in a little while a got a feedback call from their agent and i explained my problems to him, \he asked for another chance to rectify the mistake. then they connected me to their senior technician and then within seconds he changed all the looks of my desktop, it looks far more better than before. and after that i was happy.
Rather dave, last week when my grand son visited me and accessed my computer, i dont know how but he some how mistakenly deleted all my mails from out look. and this created a big problem for me. as i had all my medical information it. I was scared to death. i called this respective company for help, though i was not too hopefull. but good gracious with 4 hours of hard fight the retrived every single mail.
Hats off to them, i enquired the concerns also which you have marked, and they replied very honestly. they have served me more than what i have paid to them just loved it..- Caller: FIX ON CLICK

- shanepwellHey, I got a call from these guys a few days back. Asked if my computer was running slow. I usually get hundreds of calls offering free trips to free cards. and I usually hang up on these. Don’t know what happened, I told these guys yes. And let me tell you, they were awesome. My computer is considerably fast now. No idea why they are called scams, but they really helped my computer gain speed, and that's what matters to me.

- Ken smithOn 12 April, 2010, I was having difficulty with some areas on my computer and
contacted the help center of Fox On Click. The call resulted in a personal contact
with a representative, Roger, who in a very short time was able to determine the
troubles I was encountering and solved those within a very short time. I was very
satisfied with the service rendered by the technician and recommended the service of
Fix On Click for even those who may consider the;themselves experts.

- Chris| 1 replyGood grief, could you be any more obviously agents of this dodgy bunch of jokers?
"Ken smith", "alexpesy", "shanepwell", "davidbk", do you go by names like "Bob", "Sam" and "Bill" when at your desk in Bangalore or West Bangladesh?
I had a call from these guys, and it's such a patently disingenuous means of getting people's money... DON'T TRUST THESE GUYS AS FAR AS YOU COULD THROW THEM!- Caller: FixOnClick

- Jack14 -05 10 recieved a phone call from these people - again as above making out they were from Microsoft -unfortunately I was sat at my computer when they called. They wanted remote access to my computer, the guys accent made him hard to understand but I smelled a rat. I asked them for their phone number he insisted he would pass me on to his supervisor, I let him prattle on about selling me maintenance he insisted my machine with at great risk unfortunately for him I am a techie & sent him off with a flea in his ear - DON'T FALL FOR IT - accreddited technicians don't need to cold call & hassel you with dire warning about your computer - do your homework & only go to a recognised professional!

- The TruthI love how the phony praise posts are all so obviously written by people with English asa second language. Learn to spell and use the right words and syntax or you'll never fool anyone.
- KenThe bogus testimonials are hilarious!
Anyway I wish these guys would stop ringing me. Each time I tell them where to stick it but they keep on calling back! Annoyed that they have my number.
The guy who I spoke to put me onto his supervisor when I asked him how many people they had duped that day. I tried to extract as much info as possible from him such as the company number, company address etc. All I got from him were that they were based in Victoria (yeah right) so I said ah excellent I live near there (I do) could we resolve this face to face? He denied me an address saying they can't give out information.
The supervisor gave his name as 'Lance Peiterson', though his thick indian accent didn't convince me!
These guys really must prey on the un-tech savvy, as they took me for a complete fool. I asked them for their credentials and they asked me to 'google microsoft' as if I didn't know who they were!
Instead I cited the top hits on google for 'fixonclick' which are all pretty shady!

I had a call from these guys and I appreciated their help. Sam was able to solve all my problems whichever I was facing. I really appreciate The supervisor SAM. - CraigScam scam scam. Can't verify their service - as I wouldn't let the tech that phoned me access my PC. He LIED, LIED and LIED again about the information he had, the settings on my computer, and the company he worked for.
Wrote an article on my experience at http://tinyurl.com/fixonclickscam
At the very least - they are overpriced, and will 'solve' problems that they invent and don't exist at all... at the worst, they can steal your private data and install goodness knows what on *your* computer. Was interviewed by BBC radio today on the subject.

- ConnieI agree with everything said above. I received a call advising me they were responding to an error report from my pc, I had reported a fault to Microsoft the day before so was duped for the first fifteen minutes of a very long call. They knew my name and the town I live in so were pretty convincing at first. I am not quite as computer savvy as you guys so was horrified when they put the fear of God in me saying my computer was under imminent threat and only their technicians could save it. Only when they started talking about me paying for maintenance contracts did I smell a RAT and started questiioning them. I asked for names and addresses and nearly laughed when I was told the guy with the extremely thick Indian accent was called 'Humphrey' - Really? They asked for my payment details which I could enter on a 'secure' payment form' that they would send to my pc.When I refused he became quite annoyed insisting they were a reputable company and did not understand my concerns. I asked for their address and was told London Victoria, I explained that was not an address it was an area but he would not give any more details. I got their phone number but he refused to tell me where he got my name and phone number from, this is a worry - They are not connected with Microsoft in any way
