I keep getting harassing calls from this number.

Hey I got a strange text from this number stating that he/she hadn't heard from me for a while, etc. Nothing too creepy except they knew my name and when I responded that I don't have a name associated with that number, so please tell me who this is, there was no response whatsoever.
Since then I've been trying to think who would text me, get a response, then not say a word and have come up with just one possible answer: sallie mae or some other student loan company. I simply do not answer calls from who I believe are from my student loan companies because I am trying to get all my taxes done so that I can consolidate everything and get a better deal. That is the only thing that I came up with because it seemed like this texter was just trying to verify that this was a working phone and that I wasn't deceased or no longer the owner of my number.
Do you perhaps have a similar situation? It could even be a third party collector that they perhaps have begun using because this is the first and only time this number has ever called my phone.
Anyway, that's my big scary conspiracy theory! And if that's all it truly does turn out to be, then I'm not too worried because now that they know the truth, that the phone number is indeed mine, they can't be too much more persistent than they already are being - they call about 5 times/day as it is from their 800 number.

Appears to be a scam, I got the same message from this number.  I have also heard of people getting the same message but from different numbers and giving different Yahoo id's. Each time they know your name. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish, all the complaints I have seen are from the last week or so. It is not a debt collector.
