- DBJust received a call from 208-732-6669. Canned female voice telling me that they can lower my credit card rate (press 1 to get more info, press 2 to say stop calling). I pressed 2 and could hear a bunch of voices in the background, and a foreign voice asking to help me. I said stop calling, he said okay and hung up. Appears to be a scam to get a person's credit card info.
- Caller: Number search says Qwest
- April H(208) 732-6669
Twin Falls, ID
No voice mail. - ChrisJust received a call from this number...a robot came on and said hold for a representative...after 2-3 minutes they hung up
- Call type: Telemarketer
- E JCaller ID says Twin Falls, ID.
Left no voicemail. - Bryan Strozewski| 1 replyI received a call. Half way through the robot automated message it disconnected. Does anyoneknow what this really is
- John BCaller ID said "College of Southern Idaho". Did not leave message. 208 is Idaho, but I am skeptical of it being from a college, especially in light of other complaints here. Also, I'm in SoCal so no reason for a small college in ID to be calling me.
- JPLooks like they're getting to cell phones. Someone's selling them the cell numbers. Didn't pick up but it looks like they did a run of calls today from the other comments on several websites. I have them on my "reject" list on cell phone. Let's hope that works since my land line is bombarded with them. So far my cell has been pretty "safe" from these calls. Someone mentioned that F******** "Heather" again but said it was a male voice.
- Caller: Credit Card Heather
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Dale replies to Bryan StrozewskiIt is a call from a calling center in a foreign country with a VOIP telephone that allows them to spoof any number (make caller ID see whatever number they want) and they use a robot dialer to automatically and systematically call a series of phone numbers (for instance start at 801-111-1111, 801-111-1112, 801-111-1113, etc. on up to 801-999-9999) and try to get people to give them useful personal information like credit card numbers, names, birthdays, etc. that they can use to steal identities, money, and anything else useful. They especially like to pretend they are from a company that will lower credit card interest for people to save money, a company that provides "Life Alert" emergency monitoring for senior citizens to keep them safe, a vehicle extended warranty company that saves money on repairs, a home security/alarm company to help you stay safe, or a discount travel/vacation company to save you money on vacation fun. ALL OF THEM ARE SCAMS! Those kind of businesses do exist, so some people accept these calls without thinking. But these calls are just a bunch of lies, and if you try to call back the number on the caller ID, it will almost always be a number that is not in service. Please let all your friends and neighbors know, and help reduce the number of victims.
