This person is a scam artist. He purchased something thru craigslist from me, then cancelled the payment. the telephone number he gave was 2088341857. be aware of this scam

This person tried the same with me. Sent me two fake emails from "PayPal" confirming payment (checked email header it was paymentverificationconfirmed@account.com) the listed the address to ship to as :

Was it the 208 number that text you?? I had the call for 208 number but texts from some 347 number..

An hour after posting it!

I had the same experience as the above person. I got an email. Written poorly. Then text msgs. All txts came in the middle of the night. All in poor broken English.

Same person here.  Asked twice about my kindle off CL and both times I've replied sold.

I received a txt regarding a truck we have for sale on craigslist. It was put out on Saturday.  asked if I would email him at davidpoland2323@gmail.  He asked for more pictures, good condition runs, etc.... I did email him. I have bought things of CL before no problem. said he was in the army. couldn't come see it or call.  Had a mover ready to pick it up after we sign the title over (to the driver) and then he would deposit the money.  The original number on my cell phone txt was 208-481-5456. screams scam.

Big time scam. You'd never see any money.

He has a new phone number.  678-734-4040 and sending texts saying his name is Nathan and to email his friend at davidpoland2323@gmail.com regarding my motorcycle add.

Guy emailed after I posted on CraigsList - Wanted me to contact DavidPoland2323@gmail.com as he was the interested buyer. I googled the email and found this 800notes posts. Adding it as this is a scam artist ring! Hope it helps save others from a possible Fraud like it Saved Me! :)

Messaged me with email to reply to which the name was misspelled frankwillaims12345@gmail.com.  I had someone send me a check for more than amount asking me to give the money to her shipper who was coming by to pick up item.  I didn’t cash the check which was overnighted to my doorstep and when I didn’t cash it they threatened me and everything.  I took it to bank and it came back stolen check.  I co texted the business to let them know.  The scammer wanted me to cash check then when I was to give money to shipper who would have ironically wanted it wired I would have been stuck paying for the money from my account.   I knew something was wrong when they never asked about the item.

Take the check and the envelope it came in to the Post Office and have them send it to the Postal Inspectors.  That check was mailed from somewhere in the states and can be traced back to who sent it.

Craigslist, Kiiji, AutoTrader, Etc. Scam:

The scam works like this.  Communication is always by text or email for some made up reason such as they are deaf, they deployed and can't use their phone (then how did the text get out?), etc.  They think your item as described is perfect.  They might ask a few questions about it, and then will pay your asking price, sight unseen, because they are never around close by to come look at it (they use the stationed somewhere in the military a whole lot, or working overseas, or on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean, or simply fill in your own job here).  They will give you an extra $40 or $50 to hold it for them.  Then they tell you they will send a cashier’s check or money order for that amount plus extra for the “shipper”.  They count on the fact that people don’t know or realize that the funds being made available by the bank and the check actually clearing are two completely different things.  They ask you to wire that extra money by untraceable means such as Western Union or Moneygram.  The check or money order turns out to be bogus and you end up out the money you sent plus the bank fees.  Also, if the check is big enough you may end up being charged criminally.  Please note that check was probably mailed from somewhere in the US, so it is very important that you take the check and the envelope it came in to the Post Office and have them forward it to the Postal Inspectors.
In the case of them using PayPal, the same thing happens.  They send a fake email looking like it came from PayPal, get you to pay the shipper, and then find out that the e mail was fake and no money is available.
