- AnonymousGot a call from 209 217 0413. No one there. I'm so sick of these unwanted calls.
- AnnI have been getting spam calls all day long. Just got one from this number 209-217-0413. Sick and tired of this !!!!!
- DeniseCalled at 7pm and just air on the other line and finally got a click. Caller id showed JACKSON, CA. I had my phone company put a block on certain calls that looked suspicious and for 3 days I didn't get one telemarketer call. This one slipped through some how. Contact your carrier and check to see what they can do. I have Verizon who only allows you to block 10 but have the other service that will block a lot of these idiot calls.
- Caller: JACKSON CA
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Sally Hombs209-217-0413 called this evening; ID reads Jackson CA
No message. More scammers I take it ! ATT allows you to block 10 numbers; not sure if automatic or it's an option.
If these idiots keep calling, BAM! On the list !! Then they'll just call from a different number, sigh. Oh well.- Caller: Jackson CA
- Call type: Telemarketer
- angryGramma| 5 repliesIt is a robocall for the FRATERNAL ORDER OF police or something like that. It uses an autodialer and hooks up the robocall with a FLTsound after a few seconds and starts its spiel. I HATE ROBOCALLING CHARITIES AND I NEVER EVER SEND THEN ONE RED RUBLE.
- Caller: Fraternal order of something
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- angryGramma replies to angryGrammaI cannot even find that they are a registered charity. If you call back you get a robocalling message to wait to be connected to a BLEEP.
- anonI got a call with dead air on the line. I called the number back and someone said thanks for calling back...this call will be recorded for security. They said they were from the fraternal order of police. They did not give a location nor did I ask. I had to interrupt him to tell him I did not appreciate hang up calls and not to contact me again. He said he would add me to the do not call list. Seems like a scam. I thought the do not call list would stop these types of calls. It seems that anyone can apply for non profit status.
- Caller: Fraternal order of police
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- notsojolly replies to angryGramma| 3 repliesPolice get paid ALOT, base pays, special pays, overtime pays, plus they have mega insurance and death benefits, all kinds of family member scholarship funds, etc. that other people don't, and there are still scammers that try to pull on heart strings to steal money from the unsuspecting. Anything labelled Fraternal Order of Police is either total scam or police labor union, neither of which actually need your money.
- EstaQ replies to notsojollyThey aren't actual Police, nor anything worthwhile in the slightest. They are total scammers with a few tricks up their sleeves to make you THINK they are Police/Firemen/Orphan Food Pantry workers, etc.
NEVER EVER EVER, EVER donate to ANYONE over the phone. If you find you've mistakenly answered and it turns out to be any kind of donation call, ask for their full info in order to mail them a check (which you will NOT do, ever, and also NEVER give them your Credit Card info over the phone). Before actually donating (there are actually associations that are legit and deserve your consideration), do your due diligence and research them thoroughly, including going to the charity websites showing what portion of your donation actually goes to the cause, and what portion is used for administrative expenses. It is just too risky to hand over cash (obviously), credit card info, or checks these days. Scammers and identity thieves are everywhere, and are waiting for you to slip up!
Buy a handful of $10 money orders at the PO, and mail one or two to your favorite charities, on your own, before you are solicited. And don't answer the phone if you don't recognise the caller ID! - Jack ShitteSound asleep, phone set for three rings, went to VM, no msg left. (209) 217 0413 now added to my call blocker.
Lets see where was I ? Oh yeah --> back to ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ till the next scammer calls.- Caller: Jackson, Ca (bottom feeders)
- BobI'll received over 103 incoming calls from this same caller. Sundays make no different, he continue to call. calls originate from Jackson, CA dialed from 209-217-0413. - DeniseHello and then the line went dead.
- notsojollyunsolicited and unanswered call, no message left but they did stay on the line long enough to get the machine to record the dead air. It is again the scamming labor union "Fraternal Order of Police" soliciting donations to line some rich person's pockets at the expense of the gullible.
- Caller: Fraternal Order of Police Scammer
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TangLike Bob above, ATT supposed to block anonymous calls, but doesn't. Can block this number specifically, but ATT allows only 20 numbers to be blocked. Ever since I switched to U-Verse voice, have been getting bombed with robodial calls: 91 in 3 weeks!!
- Caller: ??? some evil dirtbag
