I also received call from this # didnt leave message.  I called back from public phone, someone answered w/ an accent and I asked what kind of business they were, she was difficult to understand but I think she said something about a job search.

I've received several calls from this number over a period of days twice people who sounded confused spoke to my voicemail as if it were a person then hung up when there was no response to their inquiry. When I input the number to google formatted as numbers and spaces to separate the area code prefix and final four digits I am given the listing for Merry Maids as another poster said above however it wasn't the top result so I am not positive they still own the number.

Call from this number, Career.com, trying to get me to sign up for online classes

I keep getting the call from this number and it doesn't leave a message.  I called it back and said the company was job search.  He said his name was Tommy with an accent and I asked him to stop calling me and he hung up on me

I do not know how they got my number but they were soliciting and try to get me to sign up for classes. Do not understand how that relates to job searches. Does anyone know how they got our numbers?

Many, if not all, of the Job Sites also tie to Continuing education  - on-line schools. I don't know if they take information straight off the job search registration, but it seems likely.

I was job searching on line and within 5min I got a call from this num. WTF?

I received a call from 209-227-6218, but they hung up when I answered. Naturally, I did some checking and one Google search entry show the number as belonging to a Merry Maids service in Stockton - so I called the number back. First I asked for the manager and got a confused answer; then I asked if this was Merry Maids. The woman on the other end of the telephone then asked for my personal information and said the call was being recorded, asking if my name was XXX. When I told her "no" she volunteered that she had just made a call because they were at a customer's location and were trying to get some information. She seemed surprised when I told here someone at that number had called and just hung up when I answered. She was even more surprised when I told her that, according to my Internet research, quite a few people were having the same experience - implying that none of the people called were any too happy. Next, she asked my personal information to block calls to me. I ended the conversation by saying I was going to report her to the "do not call list" registry, which is my next step as I end this message.
PS - This may be related to my current on-line job search. Someone previously noted that connection, and I had received an earlier call - very sketchy - also purporting to want my personal information for a job search I was conducting. I didn't give them any information, either.

  I recieved a call from 209-227-6218, they said they where calling from job torch, a job search site. They asked if maybe ia was looking for a job and registered on their site. I ntold them NO, i was an government employee for over 20 years and havent looked for a job. That when they sounded confused and said "maybe a friend had signed me up"??
  I returned the phone call to 209-227-6218, and asked for the name of the person i was peaking to and he said it was AL Serriano, his english was not very good, so i told them not to call my number again and hung up.
 

I called this number back and it went beep beep beep and hung up. 3 times-there is no answer!!! Creepy lol

This is a scam. I was on my tablet. And email said that Costco is offering opening cashier's jobs immediately. So I was wow let me apply. Then I leave my info like name address n my phone number.Then yesterday sunday. Mrs sweet calls me saying that she got my email n I was happy. At first, But latter she was offering me school educations programs
N said just need a job? and are u have something to do with Costco positions? Like human resources. Then she said. To order to apply. I need to talk whit another guy, then I got transfer to the other guy. and he sounds like a robot talk. I started irritate so I said listen I'm looking for a job, I don't need to listen to you. I don't need a school ok. this is a scam deleted my info n don't call me ok n he put music on me. I hand up...  today 2 phone calls asking for my name. That this a college degrees we meed to set up for an interview for your college, I daid no thanks.  People  don't  on apply on line job search. Even saids Cotsco is garbage...hope with this note can do something

You need the school education programs badly since you're unable to write correct English, but don't get it from this scam caller!  Try a legit community college, and dont even talk with fraudsters on the phone.

I'm getting them because I was doing job searches for my son so if any body has gone to any site like careerbuilder.com where you need to make an account first, you are put on so many list for other companies and services including "do you want to go to school" or "you could be eligible for grants..." That kind of stuff. I get tons of crap email now too. I use to be in marketing and I know "affiliated partner" can buy access to your information to market like minded productsb to you.

They said this is a lawsuit with the Internal Revenue Service.  They are FRAUD!!!
