Caller ID was 'L7 SRVC CALL' Didn't catch it in time but the far end was already talking before the answering machine or I picked up the call.

Got a call from this unknown number and let the answering machine screen it.
They left no message and just hung up.

Caller ID displayed: L7 SERV CALL

I came here to double check the number, but got no result.  However, when I then Googled L7 SERV CALL, I discovered that people had previously filed multiple reports for L7 SERV CALL, but under different numbers.  So, it would seem that this person (or company) is spoofing and rotating its number all around the country, to cover their tracks.

Bottom line: It's likely a scammer or telemarketer. Either way, just ignore this number or block them.

Called me five times in five minutes. No message. I didn't answer, because I don't answer unknown calls. Really irritated that Do Not Call Registry doesn't work on these calls!

Called my cell but did not leave a message - I no longer answer calls from numbers I do not recognize, but I am sure that this was junk.  If they call again, I will put them on my blocked list (not that it would do much good)

I just received a call from 209-498-4006 asking for "the man or lady of the house". I asked "who am I speaking with" and she again responded "may I please speak with the man or lady of the house". I then asked again "who am I speaking with". She then said, "Thank you for your time, goodbye." and hung up.  Odd.

I find some of the remarks posted about these ‘faux telemarketer calls’ amusing.  I put together a software program that has logged over 380 of these nuisance calls since 2012.  Those of you that let the calls roll to your answering machine, voicemail or worse yet answered the call you have just ensured you will get another of these calls.  Maybe not from the same number, but they’ve just identified your number as valid and passed it on.  Most of the initial calls originate from software (aka; ‘robocalls’) – once your number is identified as active, then a person may be there on the follow up calls.  If you have the capability to ‘block’ the number that called – that is the best action.  If you don’t have a blocking option, keep a phone with caller ID close by and simply hit ‘talk’ and ‘off’ simultaneously.  This will reduce the number of nuisance calls, but not stop them.  If you really want to block them – there is software available that a layman can install.  Of the 380 calls I’ve blocked, only 16 have been in the last 6 months.  So the message is simple – blocking works….
PS:  I think Call Notes should add a 'Call Type' for 'Spoof' or 'Scammer Calls'!

Keep getting calls from this number asking for the man or lady of the house. I keep telling them nobody is at home. The women says Thank you and hangs up.

woke up to a missed call from this #

called it back and some recorded lady's voice said 'thank you for calling back' and asked me to press 1 if i didnt want to get any more calls. i pressed 1 and she said that it could take up to 72 hours.

CID showed "L7 SRVC CALL".   I did not answer since I did not recognize the number.  I have blocked this number.

First time with getting this number. I have caller ID and did not answer and they left no message.

Did not recognize so I did not answer. No message was left, the caller ID was San Andreas, Ca.
If this number also ID's themselves as a service company it is most liklely the Microsoft scam.

How do we block this number for a cell?

I answered and no one said a thing.  The Do Not Call List is a JOKE!  Just doesn't work!

L7 SRVC called.  Did not answer since did not recognize.  No message left.  Let's see
how many I have to tolerate before they give up!

Received call on 2/3/2015.  Caller ID:  L7 SVC CALL  Any call I receive with this Caller ID does not get answered, and
does get blocked on my phone system.

the Do Not Call list only works for legitimate telemarketers. These callers are not legitimate so the Do Not Call List doesn't apply to them.
