Left a voice message saying to call about case,called using block #,I get a busy signal

I got a call from someone claiming to be  from the IRS and that i was being sued. When I called, they gave me a case #, told me I had been audited for 2008- 2012 and that I owed the IRS > $12,000.

It seemed suspicious because:
1) I kept getting disconnected
2) They didn't ask for my social security number or spelling of my last name
3) when I started asking questions, they told me a mistake had been made and I was not being sued by the IRS

This is a scam! Also got the same call from 216-452-6011

I got the same call today.

Message left telling me the IRS was putting a lien against me.

just received the call - said to call back - left no name or reason

I got similar message.
For sure it is scam. Number's area code is (209) , it is a small city called Hughson, CA.
How come IRS is calling from a small city of 6000 in remote area of California. :-)
It is a scam, the number called me was: 209 542 2249

Same call just received. Did not answer. They left a recorded message saying that IRS is suing me. I did not call back.

I just received the same messages on my answering machine saying "The IRS is suing you. please call 209-542-2249." This is a SCAM, because the IRS will send you a letter in the mail.

Just got same call from this number about IRS suing me. I hope no fools get taken by this scam. I also hope whoever is behind it falls into a deep dark hole where they are slowly eaten by whatever feeds on dung.

SCAM phone call.

Received the same call from IRS and they are suing me.  I WILL NOT call back.  Never know what info they get just from the return call---first they have a live person if randomly calling numbers.

Amazing authorities do nothing except warn people to beware. Going to get rid of my landline.

I got this call at 11:51 AM EST from 209-542-2249. Same recorded message that I am being sued by IRS. I did not call back and reported this on phishing@irs.gov

I can't understand that being so high tech, government cannot trace and jail these rascal scammers. Anybody can run a scam in the name of government.

"Trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS internal revenue services. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 209-542-2249. I repeat 209-542-2249. Thank you."

IRS scam????  didn't;t have my name or ss # or any  information when I called and asked for  case #. She hung up on me???

Just received the same call in Nebraska.  Glad I found this site.

Just received same call from 209 542 2249...telling me I am being sued by the IRS...it could be one of those sites  where you call the number and get charged a ridiculous amount per minute of phone time....either way it is a SCAM...

I just relieved a call from this number.  A recording said that I was being sued by the IRS.  The gave me a number to call back and then said good buy.  Seemed pretty fake to me already.

i got the same message, and was asked to call back at 2095422249. i am glad this site confirmed me of just ignoring it....
