- R Howard| 1 replyHave been called from time to time with this number 209-542 2745, and the fellow whom has a Continental Indian English Accent tells me he's with Windows and my computer has been hacked. First off, Windows does not call you... you call them for support. This is a phishing scam, plain and simple. Some time ago, being ignorant, I was duped by this outfit, or facimile'. Simple, call you're telephone carrier and report a level 3 complaint with Fraud on their 800 number. The Do Not Call list means nothing to phishing scam con artists. As is, the phone most usually belongs to a legitimate user, with their number hi-jacked by such operators as what is called 'piggy back'. Your phone company needs to know, so as to cut them off. It is a Federal Crime, thus Felony to misuse of the phone, being the phone outside personal or business function is used in emergencies, and by 'piggy back', means this is a form of terrorism, not just harassment, let alone a phishing scam.

- stanley matlackcaller said they were from micro soft and my computer had been hacked and they need information to fix my problem. Asked me if my computer was on now etc; I did not believe them, could hear many people in the background. " typical boiler room operation " I told them I talk to NO ONE about personal information on the phone and hung up!!! They did sound like they were of a middle eastern country:
- Caller: said they were from Micro soft
- BillCalled our office at 7:46 PM last night -- left no message. Caller ID only listed the number. Also got a call with blank caller ID at the same time.
- SapphireCall from Nancy saying she is from Windows Tech Support, I told her I don't have a computer and asked her once again to stop calling me.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Geek girl replies to R HowardJust had the same thing happen. Where can we report this?
- BillReceived a call from 10-209-542-2745. Yes, the caller id had all those numbers, which is a sure sign of something rotten... The caller id text said 'Hughson CA'. Earlier tonight, I received a call from 10-000-000-0000 ('Not Available') and 10-000-000-0000 ('Out of Area') and 10-000-000-0000 ('Unknown'). At least their caller id spoofing is getting more complete! I never answer calls from numbers I don't know, but I guessing all were related and likely the same 'Microsoft scam' as described by other commenters above.
- SapphireToday it was Peter who called me from tech support about my computer. I once again told him I don't have a computer
and asked him to please stop calling me.- Call type: Telemarketer
- ABReceived a text message with a picture, "Hi Ashley, I received your wine, thank you!"
