- Ryan| 1 replygot two calls today from 209-565-6371 saying they were with the dept of legal action (bogus) and asking me to call them back. Clearly a scam, the moron hardly spoke English
- Caller: dept of legal action
- JJ| 5 repliesGot a message from someone, who barely spoke English, claiming to be "Jordan Miller" from the Department of Legal Affairs, U.S. Treasury. I called the number back from a different phone and after several attempts, Officer Brian King, also barely speaking English, attempted to inform me that there was legal criminal action against me and immediately asked for my lawyer's information. I told him that he was scamming me and he hung up on me. I called back, and after several more attempts, someone answered. Officer Robert Price, sounded like the same foreigner as before, answered and I told him to do better things with his time instead of thieving and scamming. He hung up on me. The third time I called, they simply answered: "Hello". I said, "Who is this". To my surprise, he said, "your mother". Wow.
- Caller: Dept of Legal Affairs
- Steve replies to JJ| 2 repliesI am so glad I looked this up! Just got this call...it was out of area, but googled the number. Same exact story he was trying to sell to my wife. Department of Legal Affairs - US Treasury...what a turd!!

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - A mother in RI replies to Steve"Adam Walker" left a message for my son. As I understood his barely intelligible he said he was from the Dept. of Legal Affairs to have his 'lawyer call him back"
- grateful!thank you for your posts. I was trying to look up scams and decided to google the number. Was pretty sure it was a scam but couldn't even understand the message. Is there a place to report this and what can I do to get them to stop?
- Caller: Dept of legal affairs
- K replies to JJMy husband received the same call from this number... claiming to be from the Department of Legal Affairs, U.S. Treasury stating there has been a legal action taken against my husband. My husband called him out on it and the guy said we'll be hearing from law enforcement then hung up on my husband.
- SC MomThank you! got a call from the same jerk today at 1:25 pm - couldn't even pronounce our very common last name.
- Caller: Department of Legal Affairs
- Call type: Prank
- Jon| 1 replyFirst, they left the following message…
"This message is intended for "my first and last name". This is Adam Walker with the Department of legal affairs and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important (mispronounced) issue. This is a verbal (mispronounced) notification for you in regards to the enforcement actions which have been started against your name. My number is 209-565-6371. I repeat that is 209-565-6371. If for any reason or to visit (?) a call back. I would suggest you to have your reading attorney to do it for you. As for (?) calling us, my (?) through a legal mess for you. I hope you would take this right and call me back. This is Adam Walker with the Department off legal affairs. Looking forward to speak to you, until then have a blessed day and goodbye."
Later the same day they called again (same caller id number), and I answered. He barely speaks English. Said something about an officer would be at my door in the morning to deliver a subpoena and proceeded to verify my address. Instead of my verifying my address, I started questioning him. What was this in regards, and asked if he was the Federal Government… Yes, then he became more threatening. I asked where are you calling from… California. I said that an employee of the Federal Government would have better English… he became more enraged, and said something more about officers, subpoena, and then "have a blessed day". I then said that an employee of the Federal Government would not say "have a blessed day". He then said "You Mother F..ker!" and hung up. - Ellie R.I got a call from this same "Adam Walker" Wednesday Dec. 10, who said, almost verbatim, what "Jon" above posted:
"This message is intended for "my first and last name". This is Adam Walker with the Department of legal affairs and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important (mispronounced) issue. - Theresa OSame as all the prior folks. Said it was Jordan miller with Dept of legal affairs and as said above...English was not very good & you could hear like what sounded like a callcenter in the background.
- Caller: Dept of legal affairs
- Call type: Debt collector
- Boise IDYep, received the same call and script too. My caller ID had my own named and number displaying. The ring on the phone was weird as if it was a call from overseas.
- concerned citizen replies to JJI got the same disturbing phone call. They used the same names, I only spoke with "Jordan Miller", but he tried to have me call "Mr. King back @ 818-745-6329. Same lawyer prodding. I didn't give them the satisfaction of even responding. I just did a few google searches and found that I was not the only one receiving this harassing phone call. I filed a report with The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) @ www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml.
- Another "victim" replies to JonHi, I got the same call today- verbatim of what you have below. Of course I'm not calling back, but curious, in all the posts I've read, no one has said exactly what they want. So is this scam just "phone harassment"? I keep expecting someone to say they asked for money to make the legal action go away but no one has said that in their post.
I said the same thing to my husband about no one at a government agency would say " have a blessed day" on a voice mail message. - BridgetReceived a call from "Adam Walker" with the department of legal affairs on Dec. 17th. The caller asked for our son. He had an accent that made it difficult to understand what he was saying, but the script was very similar to the one used with "Jon" and "Ellie R" above. The message included instructions to return the phone call to 209-565-6371.
- Doug replies to RyanI also received a call from 209-565-6371. Same terrible accident, bad grammar, and insistence on hearing from our attorney. "Department of legal affairs" was a clue that this was a scam, however. Anyway, I'm very happy this blog is here!
- Lianne SheaCall from Adam Wallace warning that a lawsuit against me was pending and that I needed to respond immediately to avoid a big "legal mess". If I did not call, my lawyer should.
Said he was with the Dept of Legal Affairs.
