someone from this number called and said IRS is suing me and I had to call them back at this # right away!

This is a IRS scam Google IRS phone scams and see. Report them there in India looking for victims do not call back

Received a call saying I was being sued by the IRS. there number was blocked though they ased me to call back to 209-690-7166

Said the IRS was after me and to call this # 209-690-7166 immediately.  The call came from a different #1-213-141-5163 which does not go through when trying to call.

One hour ago I received a second telephone call from this number saying that this was the last call before the IRS was going to sue me.

Same as the others.  The number the call came from isn't the same as the number I'm to call because "...the IRS is going to sue me."  It's a scam.  The IRS doesn't call.  It contacts you by mail.

Ditto...recording said she is an officer for the IRS and they are going to sue me and to call 209-690-7166...

Got the same call- it is a scam- the number you are supposed to call gives a busy signal. What kind of scam is this? What are they mining for if calls fail?

I got this number to call back for an obvious IRS law suit scam call. I don't even bother to call back. IRS will only mail you by USPS.

It's a prank, folks.  Don't bother with the stupid idiot who wastes time to aggravate others.  It has to be a kid or an adult with a brain the size of a pea.  Just keep blocking the asinine calls from 213-141-5163, and do not call 209-690-7166.   It would be nice to have some criminal penalties on companies who sell the apps to spoof by using fake phone numbers, IDs, and prank messages.

Received a call from 209-690-7166. I knew it was a scam because they tried the same thing last year.  I did  call back and went along with information they gave me.  However, when I mentioned that I had a friend at the IRS and would them for further details regarding this lawsuit, they hung up.  I don't know why these people are not prosecuted!

Received a call from 209-690-7166 stating this was the last call and that IRS is suing me. I phoned the number and Officer Alan Ray - ID #211992 answered and stated I had a miscalculation on taxes from 2008-13. Stated I would be arrested in 45 minutes and if I lost my case would have to pay $75,000 or I could settle with IRS by paying $2400. He wanted to transfer me to their accounting dept and provide Officer Mike Henry with information to make payment

Received a call from "Unknown" on my cell. I never answer those calls. Figure if it is someone who really wants to speak with me, they will leave a message and I will call back.  I then received a voice mail alert. So I listened...same as above. Agent with the IRS stating that they have been trying to reach me and I am being sued by the IRS and to call them back at 209-690-7166 immediately.  I really want to call back just to play along. They wasted my time...would love to waste theirs. Or blow a whistle really loudly into the phone.

Very negative call! I typically am strong, but was initially taken in by these scammer. The scammer was brutal,  said he was an IRS officer, that if I didn't pay them $x NOW, that they would arrest me, empty out my bank account, etc.  When I asked if I had the right to talk to an attorney a few minutes into the conversation, he said NO. That's when I began to realize it was a scam, that the phone number was not an IRS one. Have since spoken to the real IRS, who said that these scammers are brutal, that some people are crying when they call them, that some people actually gave out critical info to the scammers. If you did, call the IRS about what to do.

Got a phone call today from 1-213-141-5163 they left a message stating it was the IRS and that it's an immediate that we call them back or they were going to sue.   Called them back twice it rings and it hangs up definitely scam !  The number they tell you to call back is 209-690-7166. Different from the number they called from

Same message, although caller ID said call was from 702-5467288, similarly associated with multiple types of scams and robocalls. I reported to IRS. They seem to be very active again, judging from above.

I received a call on Jan 4, 2016 that I was going to be sued by the IRS. This is a scam. The IRS does not make phone calls like this. I reported the number to the IRS on Jan7, and by that time the phone number was already disconnected.
