This number appeared on my caller ID this afternoon, but without a message.  When this number was called, a voice message stated that the number should be called from the telephone to which a call from the number was made.  A re-dial resulted in the same message.

What is the entity using this number?

I answered the call knowing it was a Texas # and we are located in Texas.  An automated voice told me to hold while I was being connected.  I waited and was hung up on.  I called it back, was told to hold again.  It was the agency that collects for the Texas DPS officers.

Calls but leaves no message

called and asked for my husband.  I said he can't talk to him, and he hung up on me.   Wish I knew who it was - these kinds of calls make me mad!

This is a scammer calling for Texas Law Enforcement seeking monies.  IT IS A SCAM!

it is not from DPS. He is a scammer. Do not send any money nor give any information.

ok. why is this happening? Spam calls like this are supposed to be illegal now. yet they get away with it still!!.  I'm a big supporter of a mandatory jail sentence for spam telemarketing calls.  Now if they provide a service like medical help, thats a different story. But spam calls like this, and the one about " there is nothing wrong with your credit card" are ones that need to be stopped for good.

State Troopers Association; it is a scam, has nothing to do with the legitimate Troopers Association.  I asked the man to remove my telephone number from his database; he started arguing with me so I hung up on him!
Usually when this company calls & doesn't get the person they ask for they hang up on you & they will never remove the telephone number even though you ask them to.  They call yearly.

This is a tele-marketing scam from a TX organization called the "TX Highway Patrol Museum".  It is a private organization and has no connection with the TX Department of Public Safety.  The State Attorney General recently obtained a court order to shut down this organization, but they evidently are either back up, or violating the court order.  They claim to be a non-profit, but the a vast majoritty of the donations go into the pockets of the organizers and officers.

Thanks for the information.  When I saw the ID, I called and the voice mail said unable to connect.  Need to call specific individual.  Good to know it was not important call.

I just missed a call from this number too. Thank you for the information!

When yolu get a call from an unfamiliar number, type in the complete number (such as 210 424-6589) and you will get the name/address of the yahoo who is calling. This call came from a scam outfit.

This is the Statewide Appeals, they are soliciting....  They are the rudest people.  The gentlemen would not take "I'm not interested" as an answer.  He said multiple times "You don't know what I'm calling about...."  Then hung up!  These people are so annoying.

I have received calls from this number 3 days in a row. Each time the jerk asked to talk to my wife and when asked who was calling, I was hung up on two of the times and was told "never mind" rudely under his breath and then hung up on the third time.

call from 210-424-6589.  Caller ID said "San Antonio Texas"  When I answered it was a telemarketer/soliciter who said it was a "statewide appeal" from the Texas State Troopers Association.  This is not a legitimate organization and has nothing to do with Texas law enforcement

He is not from Tx DPS.  I questioned him three times about what he was calling for and who he was and all he kept saying was " Mr, or Mrs---------?"  Hello some people like to know who is calling before they acknowledge who they are.  Jerk hung up.

I continue to get calls from this number. Someone said hello and then it seemed like i was being connected to an automated ystem. I hung up. Did not get the name or agency of the caller. Annoying!!!

I just got a call from these guys and asked for me. He knew my name and everything. He said it something about child support payments. But I have no kids. This is weird.
