when i answer phone, there is nothing said, it sounds dead, then if you call it back, it's a disconnected number.....

Called my house at 1:30 p.m. 07/17/07. When i answer phone, there was nothing said, it sounded dead, then if you call it back, it mentions that it is a disconnected number.....

Call back - disconnected.

repeated calls,  dozens over last few weeks.  no message, no response when answer.

I don't answer the phone if I don't know the number calling especially when it says unknown caller and out of my area.  Now after reading the other note I'm glad I did not answer it on 10/2/07

Call from 210-477-1819 October 15, 2007.  No sound on other end, didn't try to call it back.

Same thing as reported; calls for several days. I picked up today (and I think yesterday - had a few unknown calls yesterday) - no one there (apparently) but then a click like someone was hanging up. I looked up the number using my caller ID, and yes, you get the "operator" message saying "the phone has been disconnected or is not in service at this time."
That's annoying! I have heard of people who have recorded that "operator" message and played it back when they get a call. Who or why, I can't imagine. It seemed to me that it took many rings longer than it should have if it was really a disconnected phone!

call and when you pick up nothing said.(hear the phone hang up)number says it is disconneted.

Got a hang up call from this number.  Didn't even bother calling back after I read all the posts.  This isn't the first time they've called.  I've noticed a lot of extra odd calls since I got my Citibank Visa card.

I have gotten SEVEN calls since 11/15 from this number!! I too tried calling back and received the "disconnected" message after one ring. I used to get random calls from the Red Cross, but other than that I have no idea where this is coming from. Any ideas??

same as all the other.  received a call at 1:34PM on 12/4/2007.  No one responded and no sounds.  Called back and got the invalid number or disconnected message.

Also got a call from this number, no one at the other end of the line. Whats up with this caller.

I got a call on 12/28/07 and 1/3/08 at 1:28pm both times. Both times I answered, but no response-just dead air. When I tried calling back, it said that the number had been disconnected. Very strange!!!
