this is a scam that has apparently been a problem in numerous cities in Arizona, including the Phoenix area (i posted to that number also, as it came up when i did a google search for "Metro Delivery scam").

we have had three door hangers left on our house in the past month; neither number on the tag is a working phone number (Austin 512-942-6211 or San Antonio 210-515-5276), and of course the Metro Delivery website is "down."  this morning i tried to wave down/stop the person who came up to put it on our door, but she RAN back to her car and sped off (didn't get the license plate - this time).

i don't consider this telemarketing; it's unadulterated harassment, and i consider it a personal threat.  we put a note on our door warning them to stay off our property, which i still think is the "nice" way to handle it.  i certainly have no qualms about reinforcing the phrase Don't Mess with Texas, if it comes to that.

I also got a door hanger. It looks like a missed package reminder, but there is no Company name.  It simply says "sorry we missed you: Please call to reschedule San Antonio 210-515-5276 Austin: 512-942-6211.   They even have a confirmation # at the bottom.  When I called an automated voice said please standby and then no one picked up and there was no hold music.  I think this is one of those sales tactics for the work from home bunch.  When you call they try and sell you some timeshare or insurance from their kitchen.

A guy in a red PT Cruiser was in my driveway today. He had placed a Metro Delivery tag on my door. He said something really quick and then sped off. Probably a scam.

Said to call 512-942-6211 or 210-515-5276

Just received a notice like the ones mentioned in the previous comments. It says "Third and Final Attempt. Please call the reschedule. Phoenix Metro 602-281-9991. Tucson Metro 520-280-0987. Confirmation #:__________ Thank you, Delivered by Compass. Hours 9:00am to 5:00pm"

I was not expecting any package. However my birthday is near so I wasn't sure. I called. No dial tone. But if you wait a little bit, it puts you to a voice answering machine that says "All agents are busy. Your call is important to us - please leave a message with your name, phone number, and confirmation number and we'll get back to you as soon as possible."

I left a message and told them I would like to come over to this business and pick up the package. I did leave them my name and number. However, after I got off the phone, I still didn't trust it and reported this to the City Police.

The city police department confirmed with me that it's a scam. They leave this flyer on everyone's door hoping a couple people will call and attempt to collect credit card information, personal information, etc. The city police department said ignore the flyer, throw it away, and if you're like me and did leave a message and these people call back, just tell them that the person that they're calling for doesn't live there anymore and they got the wrong number. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Got 4 of these, each time they claimed to have missed me when I was home all day (I work at home).

Called the Austin Metro Delivery scam number 512-942-6211 (San Antonio would be 210-515-5276) via Skype so that they don't get my cell phone number. After a couple of seconds on hold some lady answered. I told her I wanted to be removed from her door tag scam list and she just hung up on me.

    Metro Delivery is a scam.

I found this; it sounds similar enough for there to be a conection.
COUPON SCAM: In Tucson, Arizona and recently in San Antonio a man has been going door to door selling Goodyear Tire Stores coupons "worth" $500 for $54.95. In reality, the coupons are bogus; Goodyear has no such coupons. The con artist is described as a clean-cut white male, sometimes wearing a Goodyear hat.(From: SAPD)

I have now received two of these door hangers. I also tried calling and it is an automated answering machine with music and occasionally an operator that says "all agents are busy." We just bought our house so I am concerned with how they would know my husbands name. They have it hand written on the door hanger???

I've received 4 of these in past few weeks. The only thing can find out about this is from this blog. I called the police dept and they said until something happens they can't do anything. I see where the 1st tow were from Metro Delivery and then the last 2 have Compass but same phone #'s  in 210 and 512. APD told me to call my local precinct dispatch  for my neighborhood and they will be paroling more and try to be on look out for these folks. It's some kind of scam but what?

This group of people are casing neighborhoods and looking for homes to rob. Report these "door tags" to your local law enforcement agencies, and be sure to alert your neighbors. Do not call the phone numbers listed on this tag. Do not give these people the "confirmation number". Do not give these people any personal information. They are looking for homes to rob. I happened to be at home while one of these tags was being placed on my door. The person leaving the tag tried opening my door which was locked. I heard them trying to open the door, and when I went to look outside I could see them RUNNING back to their car. This is a scam. If you received a doortag, your home is being cased by criminals. BEWARE.

My policeman husband and I  have a shot gun ready for anyone who breaks into our home. He taught me how to use it. That's security enough for me!
