This india sounding man keeps calling saying he has records that I have a 1997 VW Jetta ( which I have never had) and tryies to sell me insurance or an extended warrantee, don't remember which.

Try to block the number or at least stop answering when he calls. You can google CALL BLOCKER to see if there's one that fits with your phone system. Smartphones all have the ability. For land lines, it might require a physical call blocker, but you can also check with your phone company to see if they have call blocking. Most do have blocking, even if only for a limited number of phone numbers.

This company called today, he wanted to know who my insurance company was. I told him my wife takes care of that! He replied Okay & hung up.

He said his name is Mark Davis; however, he has a strong Indian accent.  Said he was calling from US Insurance and could save me 30% on my car insurance.  I told him that I've had the same insurance for over 25 yrs and that I also have my homeowner's insurance with the same company.  I also stated that I am not interested in changing my insurance company and hung up.  He was saying "Wait, wait".... as I hung up.

I have repeated missed calls from this number. I wont answer unknown calls and the caller never leaves a message.
