Thanks. Have been receiving many calls from them, which is related to a family member who just died, a few weeks ago, in our home, and whom they are seeking, for sure.

I am just getting around to calling all these folks, now that I've got a copy of the verification of death form, so, I appreciate the help towards knowing who I am calling back.

I would not call and verify anything.why do that?
I would just never answer and laugh at the calls
while looking over the caller ID list.

To do anything else would be setting myself up
for unnecessary BS, taken advantage of, and Scammers
trying to make false claims for money.

don't gotta do sh*t for no one.

I have been receiving calls from this number for the past couple days now. It's either the 210-586-0006 or 407-771-0887. Every time I answer I just hear breathing into the phone and no one will respond. I have never had a chase bank account, nor have I ever had ANY affiliation with them in any way whatsoever. So I'm skeptical as to whether or not it really is Chase bank. And if it is they are breaking a lot of rules with their peculiar phone etiquette.

I forgot to pay my Chase bill last month. That may have started this. They call 15-20 per day. I just got the first call of the morning. They don't leave any messages. They called my cell at least 30 times this weekend it was out of hand. I called back once to make sure it wasn't an actual person and the recording said, 'Please hold while I connect you with an agent.' I hung up. They leave no messages so I figure it isn't important. It's really annoying. Glad I found this information.

I too forgot to pay the Credit Card Bill in December. I am going to phase this Credit Card out as soon as possible.  There is a book and video you can get at your local library thats named "Maxed Out" it tells the truth about whats going on with credit.  I fell for their marketing tactics and whon't let this happen again.   They actually expect people to get into trouble so they can charge late fees, etc. and extremely high rates.

I have health issues that adversely affect my employability and I'm working with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to find steady employment as the only employment I could find since last year has been unsteady freelance projects and a part-time retail job this past month which has made my health worse. I've always made my payments on time to Chase, but last month I called them two days before payment was due to let them know that I would be unable to meet my payment (one of my freelance jobs didn't pay on time) and to request a smaller payment schedule until I could get back on my feet.

They refused and stated that only after I had steady employment could they arrange a smaller payment schedule.

Yes, I'm not kidding. As I told the manager for their payment unit - if I have a steady sizable income, WHY would I need a smaller payment schedule???  It makes no sense.

The payment at the time was $98. They hit me with over a $100 in fees and then started the harrassment. I've had to turn off my phone ringer and that could mean lost jobs opportunities if someone calls and doesn't want to leave a message.

I've spoken twice now with representatives from the -0006- number and explained my situation and was told that they use an auto-dialer and there is no way to remove my number and that there is still no way to help me by shutting down the card and letting me pay incrementally until it is paid off.

It's ridiculous and I'm reporting them if possible. They are then only business that couldn't help me or didn't seem to understand my situation. I have an excellent credit history and a strong work ethic - yet, they're treating me like I'm a dead beat.

Once I'm back on my feet (should that even be possible at this point - the stress is also negatively impacting my health), I setting up the payment option, shutting down their damn account, and cutting up my card.

THE LAW STATES IF THEY DO NOT COMPLETE A CONVERSATION (ABOUT 5 MINUTES) WITH YOU OR IF YOU HANG UP BEFORE THE CALL IS COMPLETED...IT DOESN'T COUNT AS AN OFFICIAL CALL (NO CONTACT MADE). THAT IS WHY PEOPLE RECEIVE NUMEROUS AUTOMATED CALLS PER DAY.  JUST PICK UP AND LET THEM KNOW YOUR BROKE AND CANT PAY YOUR BILLS AND THEY CANNOT CALL FOR UP TO 5 DAYS AFTER THAT. NO ANSWER = NO LIMIT TO THE PHONE CALLS!!

JUST LETTING YOU KNOW - THATS HOW I GOT AROUND THEM !

I have been hounded for the last 2 weeks by Chase's Indian Bill Collector at 210-586-0006. I know my bill is late and I told them that I would pay the bill as soon as I receive funds.

As to date, I have received more than 15 phone calls per day include Saturday and Sunday at all hours of the day.

This is my solution: I am keeping a log of EVERY phone call from these people. Starting tomorrow, I will answer every call, log it and ACCESS a $5.00 SURCHARGE for each call that I answer. I will then DEDUCT that amount from my bill when I pay it.

If everyone would do this, Chase would have to tell their collectors to call only once a month and POLITELY remind the person that they are late.

If you hit them in their pocket like they are doing to us with their 30% finance charges, $29.00 overlimit fees and $29.00 late fees, they'll think twice about using overseas collections agencies that are NOT required to follow collection proceedures mandated by the Federal Government.

they've called me 14 times since Monday.  Today - 3 calls in the last 30 minutes.  I was late by a couple of days, but the bill has since been paid - that was almost two weeks ago.  Now I know it's Chase, I'm calling Chase when i get home to see why these calls have not stopped.

It's getting ridiculous.

By LAW you can only be contacted by legit collection companys once (1) every thirty (30) days and NOT before 9 am or after 9 pm

Report them on the do not call list, let them do the explaining!!

Verizon offers a call block service, which allows you to block up to 20#'s from ringing your phone ... worth the cost!!

Backcharge Chase for the harrassement, call the # on your card & get a number for a regional mgr & call his office every time you receive a call, play the game using their rules!!!!

Oh, thanks for that info.  It is Chase, and somehow they got my work number.  I rudely told them I didn't have time to talk at the moment, and for them to not call me at work any longer, and promptly hung up the phone.  I am going to report them.  This is crazy...I'm going to be paying this card off as soon as possible and canceling it. ugh...

On May 28, 2008 I got 6 calls from 210-586-0006.  I have debit like everybody else and times can be hard right now, but calling me and not leaving a message so I know who is calling, so I know it's not some bogus call, would be most helpful

THIS IS A SCAM. Chase Bank only uses 800 numbers when trying to contact you. Don't be stupid. If you're not sure about your account, contact Chase yourself. Don't fall for this scam. All you people saying "This is a Chase number" are probably in on the scam too. Why would people, like me, who don't even have a Chase account get a call if this was a legit number? Bill collectors just don't call random people, they have specific lists with people on them that actually owe them money. Did you get anything in the mail? In most cases, you are contacted by mail first, then the calls come if you continue to be overdue. And another thing, Chase, along with every bank in the universe already has your information. Why would they need to "verify" it when they created it? When they do ask you verification questions, they are very specific and personal, and usually have nothing to do with your account or routing number. Get educated people. ID theft persists because people are stupid. Don't be a victim.
