Got a call asking for "__________". Replied by asking "May I ask who's calling?" Guy responds by saying "Hold on" and then click! hangs up on me. He better hope I don't find him next time out in New York.

Just got a call from these guys... Guy asked for the owner by name, I got his name and the initials of the company, JTF; then he said it was about a bid he had discussed with the owner (we're a construction company).  Owner gets on the phone and after a few seconds I hear "I thought this was about an estimate? Oh yeah? Well, screw you buddy!" and he hung up on the guy!!  Owner told me it was about a stock bid...

They use whatever they know about your company to get through!

Just received call at work for my boss - the guy just left his name (sans company) and number.  Would not say why he was calling.

Caller ID of incoming call from 212-299-7800 (JOHN THOMAS FIN).  Call went into Voice Message.  Just a hang-up with no message!

Just got a call from this number 212-299-7800. Asked for Owner when told he wasnt in can I help you he said he just need to get ahold of him, now what was his call # Again? Sorry I cant give that out, His response "Just perfect" and hangs up. I am so sick of these calls!!! We have all the # on the Do not call list but it doesnt seem to work AT ALL!!!!

Same here.  I have gotten good to notice the calls I hang up on them before they call me.  I am going to report them right now.

This guy says he would like to speak to "______".  I said, "He's not in right now, can I take a message?"  He replies, "Is he in the field or just not there yet?"  I said, "He hasn't come in yet."  He tries to trick me by saying, "Oh, well, I was supposed to get back with him."  "I'll just call back."  And he hangs up.  Little did he know that my boss was in, but I could tell this guy was a salesman right off the bat.  And if it was the case, that he was supposed to "get back with him" he would have left a message for my boss to call him back.  I Googled his number and it was a telemarketer-obviously, from these other remarks.  Idiot.

This person tries to get through to "the boss," owner, etc.  We can tell he is a telemarketer/scammer. Was insulting to our operator when she told him, "he doesn't have a cell phone."  He said,  "what does he use smoke signals? And then he hung up."

Rude dude wanting to speak to the owner pretending he knows him. Very pushy. "What was his cell number again?" Nice try buddy.

These guys call all the time, lying about having spoken with the owner. They know the owner's name and claim to be calling back or claim to have spoken with the owner earlier. Caller ID says 000-000-0000, but when pressed, they say that they're from John Thomas and give 212-299-7800 as the callback number. It's a scam call. When I ask to have our number taken off their list, they hang up.

Called my work, asked for owner, told him he wasn't in and asked if they would like to leave a message. She goes "well is he gone for the day or only for a while". I told her I really had no idea. She just sat there. I'm like uhh lady I don't have a schedule for the fricking owner of the company so goodbye.

I just posted above...and these idiots just called me back....AGAIN!

This time I answered with a weird accent. They again asked for the owner. I told them they called 10 minutes ago and I already informed them that he wasn't in. The [***] hung up on me.

Do they understand that they are preventing me from doing my JOB when they continuously call here and bother me when I am supposed to be helping customers? The audacity of this [***] to even call here again.

Well, some guy asked for the owner and I said he's not here. I already knew it was a scam. He asked when do you expect him in, I said I don't know. I asked what it is regarding, he wouldn't answer. Then he said he'd shoot him an email then hung up. I hate these people. They act as if they know the owner.

Attempted to get through to the owner, little did they know there are 2 of us. I nicely stated he is not in right now (he was talking to me), and he replied "Oh whats his cell # again we need to finish up a conversation" told him we do not give that out, he replied with "no worries, i'll send him an email". Acted like he knew the owners when he was actually talking to an owner the whole time. Good job JTF

A female just called for one of the executives in our office and said she was calling from John Thomas's office.  I called him, he didn't know what it was, and asked me to get more info.  I got back on with her, and asked for more information and she said, "I'm calling regarding a previous conversation, he knows what it's about."  I said, actually, he doesn't and he asked me to get more information.  All she would say (again) was that it was regarding a previous conversation.  I said, you'll have to give me more info.  She rudely said, "Ill just have to e-mail" and hung up on me.  Glad I checked here, I'll know what to do with them from now on!

Very cocky!!!! A Craig from JTF called asking for the president. I asked what it is regarding, he says he knows me. Watch out, these people are scum bags.

Called asking for the President and acted like they knew each other.  New York accent was  dead give away on the scam, hung up after told him we knew all about John Thomas scams.

212-299-7800 was the caller ID of John Thomas Financial Services.  Asked for our President and when I asked what it was regarding, said a deal that they were working on together and that it was a private matter.

I just hung up on him as the conversation got very rude on his part.  After reading these messages and at a few other websites, its nice to know it is one big scam by JTF.
