Is this a real number? Looks made up...

I repeatedly received calls from 212-345-6789 and 112-345-6789 over the past couple of days but was not around to answer it.  It is weird as 112 is not a valid American area code.

About 8:05 on Jan. 9th, 2008

Caller called himself "Ronnie", wanting to tell me how I could save big on long distance with "Primus".  I told him the telephone was not a legitimate form of advertising and hung up.  Apparently Primus outsources, the call is from India.

This Number called me and they said they were from primus and were offering a long distance discount.....They knew all my information about where I lived..so I stayed on the phone. He told me at the beginning his name was Shawn Ford...Later on..he mentioned his name was something else....so I hung up....Dont know how he got my info or if the call was a scam that is why I'm seaching to see if it is...If anyone has any info about this number please contact me      carlee2026@gmail.com...Thanks

This is a real number I did a reverse phone number check on it  The number comes from new york city usa. They are a real phone company but have very bad tactics. They called and woke up my kids very bad. I hung up on him. You should email the company telling them to bugger off. anyways have a nice a day.

This number is calling daily from all states, but always the '345-6789' number.  Waits for voice mail but leaves no message. I work shift so it wakes me up. Damn  nuisance. I will write Primus. Thanks folks..

This number called me and knew that I had a particular credit card, and had my address (but did not have the complete address). The caller sounded like he was from/in India, but called himself Neo Anderson (which I think is the name of Keanu Reeves's character in The Matrix movies). He tried to get me to confirm a long-distance plan. He gave me a toll-free number to call and his employee I.D. (probably both fake), and when I told him I would call the toll-free number tomorrow to confirm his information he hung up. Very scammy. If they call you, don't answer!

Did he possibly use the name "John Ford"? My caller used a movie character's name. Maybe they're pulling fake names from actors/characters on the IMDB?

yes, Primus is outsourcing their departments for residential customers (customer service and tech support primarily) i know this because i was outsourced myself. (and the thing that makes them come off smelling like roses is that their north-american employees are primarily contract workers, so there's no chance of severance or any sort of compensation so the company can get off scott free and can easily avoid wrongful-dismissal suits.)

i just hope i'm able to laugh when customer churn takes it's toll because of customer dissatisfaction (i can't count on my hands and feet how many customers were relieved that i was from north-america when they asked.)

funny thing, they measured it solely on statistics and cost. they didn't factor in customer satisfaction and they didn't factor in on the # of rejected trouble tickets or even the LACK of any troubletickets. (it is Primus's policy that EVERY CALL to tech support has a ticket number generated and the representative is REQUIRED to give you their name AND extension in tech.)

so, let's factor this out... 1000 calls handled by the bangalore office. number of tickets generated? 700 (where's the other 300? oh wait, no ticket to reject... aah, yes, that answers it) number of tickets rejected? less than 100.

now, how many representatives had i caught doing this in my last two weeks there? at least 40.

so, if you're a customer of primus, you should be getting the three following things EVERY TIME YOU CALL TECH SUPPORT... it IS primus's policy.

1. rep's name (only first is required.)
2. rep's extension
3. trouble ticket number

if you fail to get this information, chances are your issue isn't going to be handled in the slightest.

and also, to ANYONE with primus, ALWAYS ALWAYS write down the timeframe you called in and the number you called from. with this information they can track whom handled your call so they can ensure that any "training opportunities" can be addressed.

trust me, i used to work for them and it is shocking the amount of incompetance they'll put up with so their shares will go up a half point.

I couldn't understand a word that was being said. The voice on the other end of the line was wery garbled.

Received a call again from them, all calls start from 112-345-6789, 212-345-6789, 512-345-6789 and 712-345-6789 yesterday I called back the 112-345-6789 the man said police directory and today one Indian accent called asked for me and said they he is calling from the bay and said it is years I had been with them and that I hold a credit card from them I said what I do like saying do I, then he hesitated like he was looking up something. Then I said heh wait a minute I would like this conversation to be recorded so I could give this to phone busters then the idiot hanged up.

I called back this number and there is a recording saying this is not a working numbers and it has been reported to phone busters. (1-212-234-6789) So please be careful and report all of these calls so they will be out of business, us all alone to continue working.

From now on I will no longer answer any phone calls from people I do not know, and this because of all these frauds that are happening.

Got two calls this week from this number. I wasn't home the first time and they didn't answer right away on the second one so I hung up.

I said hello.  A woman's voice said hello, but very softly, as if from very far away.  I said Hello? again, and the woman said hello.  I waited, the woman said nothing, I hung up.

I just got a call from this number on my Cel Phone (Vancouver, BC)

So of course i call the number back and this is the auto-message that played:

"you have reached 2123456789. This is a non working number. We have been informed that someone has been using this number as a false caller ID and making calls to Canadian Residents seeking personal information. We have reported this to the authorities. If u have received such a call plz contact phone busters at 8884958501 to report this incidence & for assitance. thank you"

I just got a call from this # too! i picked it up and nobody answered so i hanged up.. soo weird.
