Vince, calling for what he thought was the owner of the company.  I told him I would need to get his contact information so we could reach back out to him but he deferred.  As the first post indicates...  very tricky.  Fortunately I'm trickier.

Very sly. Still don't know what he wants? We received a call looking for an individual at the Co. told him that the intended party was not available. Vince wondered if he was in at all.. We asked for a # from him and he refused to give up a number. Very persistent, tricky, relentless and annoying. However we still don't know what he wants.
Hes not you buddy nor does he know anyone that you do. Be cautious.

Called the office, asked for the owner by first name like he was a pal. Yeah buddy! NOT. Telemarketers will use all kinds of tactics to get to the owners/managers. DO NOT FALL FOR THE SHAM--be a good gatekeeper and ask to take messages--NOT AVAILABLE! FREAK!

Have gotten repeated calls from some guy who makes himself sound like an old lady at first asking for my boss by his nickname.  Will never tell me who it is or leave a message just says that he will "shoot him an email".  After the umpteenth time that this guy called we called back and pretended to be calling the wrong number just to find out where this guy is calling from.  The receptionist said that that the name of their company is John Thomas Financial.
