I received three calls from this number. The caller ID said it was AIG Corp with the number 212-458-7243. I don't really think it was from AIG. Their name was just being used so I would answer the phone. The first time I answered no one was there. The second time I answered and a man with a very very thick accent (maybe Indian) came on the line with a lot of background noise. I could not understand him. I told him so and said goodbye and hung up.

The third time it sounded like the same man. I understood some of what he said. He said he was from computer repair. I said that we hadn't sent in any computers for repair. He then said something like "You can have more than one car but only need one license and if you have seven computers you need only one license." Then he said that I was a Windows customer and that he needed to check my computer for an infection step by step. I said "Don't call again." We will see what happens.

We received the same call and told him that we do not own a computer.  Thick accent, said his name was Ben.  He didn't believe us and got mad and hung up.  He's called back 3 times but no one is on the line.

212-458-7243 from "New York" has called me 30 times this year.  I never answer any caller ID I don't recognize.  It's always some bogus "Windows computer repair" scam according to google.  I have reported them online to the governments' DO NOT CALL COMPLAINT list, but of course, our government does absolutely nothing and you can't sue these people, because they probably use a fake "New York" caller ID and are in India or some crap country instead.  NEVER ANSWER YOUR PHONE IF THEY CALL

Received a call from the number above, actually three calls.  Same ole story computer has virus they need to repair it and they needed me to give them remote access.  Not a chance.  I could not understand the first man, and told him that i could not, so he says let me get my supervisor.  The "supervisor" had worse english than the first man.  I wish they could catch these guys.

This number has called every morning since we set up a land line. The first time they said they wanted to check my computer. I let him talk while I searched in Google for what he wanted. Popped up as a scam. They take down your firewall and you have to buy security to replace it. But while your doing that (if you find out in time) they are stealing your personal information.  I told him he was a telemarketer and to never call my phone again. He objected with "Wait mam, wait no, wait...". I told him to have a nice day and I hung up.  I hate they keep calling, I answer then the phone hangs up. So over this. Land line for my kids safety (911).

Got called twice. Was unable to answer. Now i checked this number i'm glad.

I receive calls from this company at least six times daily.  Once, I did pick up - no answer.  When I checked AIG Corp and discovered it was an insurance company, I answered the second time.  However, I received the same sales pitch experienced by other posters regarding computer service.  I told the Indian gentleman they would be reported for nuisance calls.  We're already on no-call lists so I really don't know what else to do.

I have received the same phone calls from these people for at least 10 times.  This a.m they called me at 7:40.  I picked up and hung up.  I would like to report them to as scammers.    I am going to google online to find out where to report these scammers and their telephone number.

Much the same as all the rest. Some Indian freak claiming to be John or Jim or Ben or any other name they wish to select.
Claims to be working for Microsoft and my computer is sending error messages they need me to allow them to go inside the computer to fix it and in the end it amounts to a fee and contract. Just a lowbrow scam!!!
Now, I answer just to screw with them untill  they just give up and hang up themselves. I just have fun with them and say things like, I can smell their breath or 'worse' but it does no good, they still call from 6AM into the evening. The only time they hung up quickly is when I told them I thought they were terrorists. They call 1 to 6 times per day.

I've gotten at least 9 calls since Friday...I answer and no one answers.  The caller ID says AIG Corp.  I sent AIG Corp and email to alert them that someone is using their name.  When that number is dialed back I get the message that that number is not in use.

Now that i know this maybe i will answer and kerp saying ...what??..lol

I am in Switzerland and on Sunday 12 oct, also received a call from a guy saying he works in a windows service center and asking me to log in my computer.

His call number was 00212 458 72 43 which is in MOROCCO...

Did you allow them access?  Unfortunately, I just did and I am not sure what they did.   Have you noticed anything stolen (personal info) or was it just a way to sell something?

Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• Disabled the anti-virus software
• Added nasty malware to the computer
• Copied the Contact List (so they can email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• Compromised the ID
• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
• Deleted some important files
• Asked for money to repair the damage they caused

What can you do immediately after such an attack?
1.  Pull the cables on the computer, so it cannot access the internet.
2.  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer
3.  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4.  Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything
5.  Inform your bank and credit card companies
6.  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7.  You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
8.  Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you
9.  Plug in the computer only AFTER all the above have been done
10.  Change the passwords on all online accounts.  Even better - access a "safe", uninfected  computer, and chance your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.

After two weeks of receiving these Chartis calls 3-4 times a day, the call at 4:54 am finally put us over the edge. We've put a call block on this number and have two quiet days!

I received a call from this number today and a person with a heavy foreign accent told me that he is from AIG Corp. He said that he is in charge of windows on my computer and needs to take over my computer to fix it. I asked questions and he finally hung up on me. He is not from AIG; that company does not make those kinds of calls to consumers. He is a scammerscummer.

This number has started calling my cell and calls nonstop all day!  It comes from NY USA  Never leaves a voicemail.  

I found out that our government SENDS THE 'DO NOT CALL LIST' OUT TO ANY BUSINESS THAT REQUESTS IT! (Supposedly so they know who NOT to contact.) Well, foolish (but sometimes risky and) always annoying "businesses," both foreign and domestic, call us anyway, IGNORING (or oblivious to) the fact that WE DON'T WANT TO BE CONTACTED!!!!
